"Whatever you do, just don't screw it up." Buffy says on the other line, "There are probably hundreds of cameras watching your every move."
"Don't remind me." I reply, forcing my eyes away from the tinted limos windows, where tons of people are waiting for this perfect, attractive man to step out and be completely flawless, with no surprises. "I don't even know if I should do this."
"Well you came this far, and I think that it's the perfect idea." Buffy says, "oh I have to go, me and Marty are about to step out. Bye, good luck. I'll see you inside."
"Bye." I reply, stopping any form of shakiness in my voice from projecting out. I wipe my hands on my suit. Then stop, knowing this is worth twice as much as the limo I'm riding in. "Why am I even here?" I ask myself, not expecting an answer. Cyrus would probably say it's a gift from the Universe that we ended up here.
My phone buzzes with another apple news article. Thelonious Kippen and Cyrus Goodman, will there be more than just an onscreen kiss from this movie? It reads, I smile, despite the fact that this only makes my expectations as Cyrus's date higher. The press seem to really enjoy stating our relationship at any moment they can, now that Cyrus got this movie deal it has only grown. I'm pretty sure we have a few fan accounts and fanfics in our name, although I'm too scared to look at them.
I wish I had him with me now, but it was insisted that we came in separate cars since we do have different roles in the creation of the film. Cy probably wouldn't want to hold my sweaty hand anyway.
The Limo stops right out the front of the theater, despite the nearly opaque windows, the flash of hundreds of Cameras catch my eye. I guess we're really doing this.
I breathe in and exhale. I can do this, it's not like my reputation is on the line.
Somebody else opens the door for me and I step out, putting my hands inside my pockets.
So many blinding lights snap at me as reporters get the first look of my outfit. It was tailored to make myself feel comfortable despite the fact I could have gone for hundreds more looks. It's a black bomber jacket with white lining over a simple button up, complete with black pants and shoes that shine brighter than the diamonds some others are wearing.
My eyes search the crowd, spotting Buffy and Marty in a bright festivity of colors, right next to Jonah doing an interview with someone working for Greek Reporter. Other press shout at me from different angles asking for my attention, a side profile, to look over here.
"You look lost." Somebody says beside me, I turn away from the blinding lights to see Cyrus beside me, he's wearing a completely white suit, with a rainbow collar and belt, he grins at me, feeding off the excitement and energy. He looks breathtaking.
I'm really doing this.
"Good thing that you're here then." I say, smiling, my heart going about a million miles an hour. I offer my arm for him to take.
"Giving the people want they want? Smart move Kippen, I guess you're not so new to this." Cyrus says, taking it.
"I had plenty of time doing research while you were out getting movie deals." I block out any self doubting thoughts about what I'm doing here, I can't back out now anyway.
"They're starting to come up with ship names for us." He says as I walk Cyrus down the carpet, we stop and smile for nearly every camera. "I think Tyrus is my favorite."
