Ishita: Ishita Bhalla is always right
As discussed, Mihika had met Mihir the same day. Mihika had told Ishita about Mihir being skeptical and informed Raman to have a word with him when he goes to work on Monday. Mihika said that she had no problems with marriage, just that she would prefer to get married once she gets her promotion in about a year's time.
Ishita: But yaar Miku, you know Amma
Mihika: Akka, I already agreed to marry, she can wait a while na? I'm still young anyways
Ishita: Tumhari marzi. But don't bring in between arguments okay? (Your wish)
Raman discussed with Mihir in his room in the office.
Raman: Mihir yaar problem kya hai? (Mihir what's the problem?
Mihir: Bhai you know everything, phir?
Raman: Ishita discussed with me about the both of you. We're not forcing you to get married now. Just that we feel that this should be brought to the elders. She was worried about Amma, what if she finds a prospective groom on some Madrasi Mangalam website? Won't it complicate things further? Mihir tu mera bhai hai, mera itna bhi hak nehi hai? (Mihir you're my brother, don't I have this much rights?)
Mihir: Aisa nehi hai bhai... Thik hai, you and Bhabhi bring up this matter. But Mihika said that she'll only marry me once she gets her promotion in a year's time (It's not like that brother... Okay)
Raman: When and all doesn't matter, as long as you're reserved, it wouldn't bring up any new complications
Mihir: Jaisa aap kaho... Waise Mihika ne bola, that you and Bhabhi expressed your feelings for each other. Congrats bhai (As you say... Anyways Mihika told me)
Raman nodded smiling and went home to tell this to Ishita.
Ishita: That's great Raman, we'll talk to our parents this weekend
The weekend arrived and Ishita had informed Amma and Appa to come to the Bhalla house to discuss something important. When they asked about it, she shushed it saying that they're somehow going to find out. Raman informed the Bhallas that the Iyers would be coming over, and he didn't reply when they asked for the reason. The Iyers and Bhallas had gathered in the Bhalla house and had waited patiently for their child to finally break the suspense. Mihir arrived with Mihika after he fetched her from office as she went to "arrange files" but it was actually to try to release her tension. They came in and Raman cleared his throat.
Amma: Mihika? Agayi tum? Come come Ishu said she has something important to tell
Toshi: Haan this Raman also said there's something important but he's not telling anything until now
Raman: Yes, we called all of you here. But we wouldn't be the one telling what is today's meeting about. Mihir and Mihika, why don't you say it?
Mihika looked at Ishita helplessly.
Ishita: Raman and I organized this meeting, and now it's your turn to talk
Mihir held Mihika's hand under her scarf. They took a deep breath before opening their mouth.
Mihir: Aunty actually
Mihika: Baat yeh ki (The thing is)
Toshi: Oye bol na! (Hey tell!)
They took a deep breath again.
Mihir & Mihika: Hum shaadi karna jaate hain (We want to get married)
The entire house went in silence as the duo spilled the beans.
Mihika: Lekin abhi nehi, ek do saal baad. Jab mujhe promotion milegi tab hum shaadi karenge (But not now, one or two years later. Once I get my promotion then we'll get married)
