Kate's POV

I was currently sitting on the couch and I heard a knock on the door.

Waiting for someone to get it I stared at the door.

Damien came out of his room and then looked at me with an exasperated expression.

Opening the door he growled.

I turned to see Damien and Adams father. A chill ran down my back and the air got caught in my throat.

"Who is it Damien?" Adam asked but then stopped when he saw his father.

He was next to me in a split second.

I buried my face in his chest and sat on his lap.

He rubbed his hand on my back and I could hear Damien and his father speaking.

"What do you want!?"

"My daughter!" He commanded to Damien.

"Well you can't have her," he replied rudely.

With a huff he pushed past Damien,"She is in my custody. You two can do as you please but she's mine."

"Ill be right back," Adam murmured quietly in my ear.

He was gone before I could argue.

I heard a car outside roar to life and speed out of the drive way.

Adam was back and he made me look at him.

"Your okay he won't touch you," he reassured me.

There was yelling again,"Where is she where's my daughter?!"

"She's not hear," Damien growled.

"What do you mean," he yelled back making me flinch.

"We filled the paperwork out and she's now legally Aunt Nina's child."

Their father roared in aggravation.

"You can't do that."

I could hear his voice getting closer to me.

"Too late," was Damien's reply.

From what I could hear their father was having what seemed a tantrum.

He was screaming profanities and smacking things as he walked around.

I was terrified he would turn and hit me even though Adam was holding me.

I didn't realize until Adam steadied me that I was shaking.

"Calm down," he said softly as he stroked my hair which did calm me a bit.

I was relaxing a bit until his father's voice was very close.

"If I can't have my daughter ill just take my slave back since I bought her."

My entire body stiffened.

That's when I started crying.

I felt someone roughly grab me from behind and Adams grip slipped.

I was screaming and yelling for Adam to save me.

Tears streamed down my face as I struggled.

"Adam! Don't let him take me," I was screaming this in a very unintelligible voice.
