2 weeks had passed and Amina grew accustomed to her new routine. Her friendship with Janis was thriving and the two had grown so comfortable with each other.

The new environment that was Bakersfield provided Amina with a new found safety and comfort. Most days she barely remembered the trouble that she left back at home. She forgot that she was even a wife to a cheating bastard who got his paramour pregnant.

Those rare occasions where she would remember Henry and her heartbreak, Janis was always there to save the day. She would make sure that Amina wouldn't dwell too long on her vexatious husband.

The wounds he created were slowly starting to heal. Amina was smiling more often, her eyes were no longer gateways to waterfalls and she no longer felt as if she had lost the rudder to the ship of herself. Like a puzzle she was slowly coming together, this time the mastermind and the hands of those piecing her back together the same way it had disoriented her pieces was time.

The two weeks she spent mostly with herself, she was able to do some introspection. She no longer felt the need to act on rage, instead she turned her rage into energy. She used it to bring her ship back to life. She felt in control like she could do anything and with that her ship started to sail, at a slow pace but nonetheless it was sailing and most importantly she was the pilot.

Amina however was very aware that she needed to go back. Not to fall right back in the hands of Henry but to collect her things and hopefully come to a conclusion as to where their relationship is headed.

Once again, her wounds were slowly healing, the were not completely healed and she knew that that would take time. As much as she wanted to put all the blame on Henry, she knew that she played a role.

Amina was a woman of virtue, no doubt. She was undeniably a loving wife. The issue was that she was too loving and any entity given in abundance loses its value. A cornucopia of love seems desirable in theory but the truth is that an infinite supply of anything depreciates. Amina was unlucky in the sense that she was only able to realize this in hindsight.

She became a woman of virtue that unknowingly fed her husband's vice. Without even knowing it she became an easy target for her husband, she made her self too easy and so he succumbed into his nefarious thoughts because he knew of the abundant love she showered him in and that it was infinite.

On that evening Janis and Amina were sat on the couch in the living room watching a series on Netflix while eating pizza. Amina was not even paying attention to the show because she was too busy mustering up the courage to tell Janis about her plan to go back and find some sort of closure.

Amina felt timid but she knew that her impending return was inevitable. "Janis, we need to talk about something."

Janis quickly shifted her attention from her laptop to a meek looking Amina sitting next to her. "Yeahhhh" she dragged.

"So I have been putting this off for a while but I need to go back home. To gather my things and find some sort of closure. Hell, I don't even know where I am going to go. I can't stay here forever without paying bil-"

"Amina," Janis cut her off "you're rambling. I knew eventually you would have to go back. I don't want you to worry about finding a place to live though because you should know by now that I am more than glad to share my apartment with you."
