"Are you just going to ignore me then?"

Sterling was looking at me over my laptop screen, he was dressed, ready to go somewhere. They must have let him back into the casino as he was wearing his lucky blazer.

"Not intentionally, I just have better things to do, like work." I told him. I only had to last another week on this damned cruise, then I can get home, get the paperwork and file for a divorce. His plan of seducing me into his bed to ensure there was no divorce wasn't going to work.

I knew what he was up to, and perhaps he knew I had caught on as he had left me along the past two days. Everytime the boat now docked, I made sure I stayed on board doing my work. Sometimes I went to get food, but other times I preferred room service. I mean there was only so much take out I could eat without feeling like I had too much MSG.

I really just wanted a fresh, green salad, with a tonne of balsamic vinegar to drown all the leaves. Honestly, it was the only way to eat a salad, drenched in dressing. I looked outside realising I had spent more than eight hours straight here, sitting and working. No wonder my back hurt.

I closed my laptop in dire need for some food and a stretch. It was like I was a teenager again, only leaving my room to get snacks or return dirty dishes.

I slipped into a warmer top than my singlet, pulling my hair out of its tight ponytail and running a hand through it. I knew it looked gross, it was in dire need of a wash and there was a bend in the hair where the pony tail was for the last few days. The only time my hair had some relief from the tight hair band was when I went to bed, so it didn't dig into the back of my scalp.

Grabbing my phone I slipped out of the room into the quiet hallways. Everyone was either in bed, or probably in a bar at this time of the night. I walked up onto the deck, my sea sickness wasn't totally gone, but I was getting used to knowing how to deal with it.

I made sure my diet was full of carbs, and I knew my dresses back at home were going to appreciate that diet. I felt less sick when I ate bread, pizza or pasta, which was interesting as I thought pizza would make me want to vomit. The other day I had some hot chips as it was freezing and it all came back up at two in the morning. I was just glad no one was in the room to 'watch me'.

Standing in the fresh air watching the ocean always helped, when my eyes saw that the cruise liner was moving, the proof in the water and waves as they moved away, then my brain knew where to put the motion, so I didn't feel sick. It was when I was working away at the desk, and my brain and body felt me move but I was staring at a still screen, was when I needed to go rushing into the bathroom.

It's common to be sick when you're on the move, whether it be plane, car, boat or train. It was also common for people to feel less sick when they saw that they were moving.

I walked towards the food stores trying to think of where I should eat today, or what I should eat. I was getting sick of the carb options, but they also didn't sell the salad I was craving. I went into some shops that were surprisingly still open at this time, and ended up impulsively buying a book.

It was from the bargain bin and costed less than a bottle of water, so I felt like I could indulge in it. I had no idea what it was about, but apparently it was a romance crime thriller, why not. I found myself a quiet spot on the deck, where there was some light and settled into the arm chair. Slipping of my shoes I relaxed into the warm chair, trying not to think about how many people have been here before me and that I didn't wipe it down.

The inner hygiene freak in me was...well...freaking out. I tried concentrating on the book instead, and opened the bag of popcorn I had bought since I had no idea what I wanted to eat. At least this no butter and only salt popcorn would be light and semi healthy.

I was three chapters into the book when I was getting bored, or tired, of it and decided to go to my phone instead, scrolling endlessly though  other people's updates. I got bored of that, and went back to the book.

It was quite cold and chilly up here, the wind constantly picking up into a heavy breeze and then disappearing for minutes at a time and I wish I had a blanket. If I went back to my room to get one, I wasn't going to be coming back up here again. I might as well stay here for another thirty minutes for some fresh air before going back.

I turned over laying on my side as I flicked through the book. Perhaps I was drawn to this book at the promise of romance and love since it was lacking in my life.

Who was I kidding, i liked it that way.

I placed the book down sick of the soppy love story and decided to stare at the stars instead, like I used to as a kid. It always fascinated me how the stars could shine so bright. Out in the middle of some ocean, floating on top of very deep water that could easily drown me, were pretty stars, thousands of them. The clouds were to a minimum, and the moon was shinning brightly in the distance.

It was almost like you could see the milky way with how many stars were in the sky. I closed my eyes enjoying the breeze that had calmed down, trying to focus on the sound of the waves that were crashing into the side of the boat.

I could feel the rock of the boat, or perhaps it was in my mind as I let myself settle into the chair, a slight shiver passing through my body from the wind. It took a few minutes for my body to adjust to the weather before it felt like I was floating.

It felt like I was floating for a very long time, relaxed till a violent noise woke me up.

I sat up, pain shooting down the side of my spine. Did I fall asleep?

I looked up and around at the empty deck, did I just fall asleep here? I looked at the time, it couldn't have been more than an hour since I had drifted off into one of those half asleep states.

I yawned pulling up the jacket higher to my neck as I leaned back down, trying to get all the warmth from the jacket.

I reached for my book when I realised, I didn't bring a jacket.

I looked down at the grey suit jacket, that was definitley not mine. It almost looked familiar.

I turned it around in my hands, holding it up, it was still warm and I wasn't sure if it was from my body heat or whoever owned it. The inside of the jacket had a gorgeous embroiled mandala print and I wondered who's it was.

Both the pockets were empty. I turned the coat around again till I saw a somewhat hidden pocket in the inside of the blazer. I placed my hand inside pulling out a very slim brown wallet. It had a zip for coins or money, and five slots for cards. There was nothing else to the wallet, it was minimalistic.

What was surprising is that there was only one card in the wallet. I pulled out the orange card. It was a debit card.

I sighed, it was my debit card.

Now I wasn't so surprised that there was only one card in his wallet.

I shook my head, placing the card and wallet back into the pocket and laying back down wrapping the jacket around me. At least it was warm.
