Percy POV
FINALLY! The weekend.
The bell for last period on Friday rang as people rushed to get the hell out this prison. I met up with Grover and he invited me to spend the weekend at his place. Of course I agreed. Thee was no way I would stay three days in the same house as smelly Gabe. We snuck into my house to get stuff that I would need and got the hell out of there before Gabe woke up from his nap on the couch.
We got to Grover's house and greeted his father, Pan. We went upstairs to his room and spent most of the afternoon playing video games and catching up on the summer. A few minutes later Mr. Underwood called us for dinner. We ate and said our good nights and I went straight to bed in the guestroom.

I wasn't surprised when my eyes snapped open at around four am. When mom went for her trips Gabe would make me his personal slave so I had to get up early to make his breakfast and finish my chores. I knew that there was no way I would be going back to sleep so I browsed through my phone not looking for anything in particular and answered some of my texts from mom. I took out my books and got some of my homework done before I took a shower and brushed my teeth.
It was around eight when I went to the living room and found Grover watching some nature show while his mom was making breakfast and his dad browsing through the morning paper. After breakfast was done his mom went to visit a friend of hers and his dad went for some meeting.
We stayed indoors for the most part of the day, bored out of our minds when I insisted we go outside for a stroll. We ended up in the park and I honestly wasn't surprised when he started talking to a squirrel.
"Grover. Stop your embarrassing me."
"Oh come on Perce can't you see he's injured. We have to help him." He looked at me with this weird look in his face. To be honest, I was worried about the guys mental health.
"He's not injured. Come on. I'm craving for some blue ice cream right now."
"These an ice cream shop across the street from here but I can't just leave this little fella alone now can I ?" He said while picking up the squirrel making his way to the street. Now here's where shit happened. As we wee about to cross the street the little vermin got out of Grover's grasp and ran for my feet where there was some nuts. I was not a fan of animals of any kind unless they were sea animals or horses so naturally I ran off screaming…in the direction of the road, where there was an incoming car that thankfully saw me in time and swivelled to its right and hit a pole.
Dammit.
