I walked back out of the bathroom to meet milo again.

One look at him and I could just tell he understood.

"Hey, what if we play some video games or something?" He suggested.

I nodded and led him upstairs to my room. I had a gaming system and a stack of game cds he carded through.

"Oh my god, we're so playing Mario kart." He said, holding up the disk.

I laughed.
"Oh yeah? Get ready to lose bitch." I said, grabbing the remote and starting the game.

-
"AH! Fuck benji, I hate you, stupid piece of shit. First round in every single match! Now that's just ridiculous." Milo said, gently throwing down the game remote.

I was laughing on the floor.
"Maybe you should, I don't know, suck less?" I suggested.

He just tilted his head back to laugh.

"I've never played it before, dipshit." He said.

"Ohhh." I said.

He nodded. His phone dinged and he instantly grabbed it, and didn't even look at his phone.

"I have to go, I'll see you tomorrow." He said standing up and waving to me.

I furrowed my brows, but nodded.
"Okay, see you tomorrow." I agreed.

He walked out of my room, but I heard him yell.

"Bye ms. Krol!"

"Bye darling, take some food with you before you go!" She yelled back.

I just shook my head and face planted.
-

The next day at school I actually didn't see Milo. It was kind of upsetting, I know we have only been friends for one day, but it honestly felt like a week.

Plus, now I'd have no one to eat lunch with, or to generally help me get through the day.

And that's when I was stuck thinking about jorge.

About the way his hair curled when it was wet.
Or how his smile would glisten like the sun.

How his pale skin heavily contrasted with mine.
Or how his brown eyes turned into pools of honey whenever he looked at me.

God. I thought he loved me.

And maybe that was stupid to think.

I opened my phone to check and see if anyone I had messaged about him answered me.

Not a single one.

I just tried to convince myself that it didn't even happen sometimes, because it might just make it easier.

I don't know exactly what I did for him to do this, I'm pretty sure I'll never understand.

But I'm just glad he goes to his expensive private art school.

And I just go to midville high.

The lovely place where one person likes me.

And he isn't even here.

I broke out of my thought, and went to lunch to get my tray, although I wasn't entirely sure I'd eat it today anyway.

I walked into the empty commons, and sat down on the bench.

It was made of metal wire, so it kind of hurt my ass to sit on it, but I made do.

I poked at my food, it didn't look all that appetizing anyway.

And then I felt a tap on my leg.

I jumped.
"Fuck!" I said, startled.

And then I saw bens smiling face.

"Did I scare you?" He asked, laughing.

But I wasn't laughing. Why is he sitting here. Why is he talking to me. I thought he was too far shoved up Max's ass.

He stopped laughing.

"What are you doing?" I said.

"Sitting." He said, trying to make it seem normal, as if he were just milo, a random person sitting with another random person to become friends.

"With me?"
But that simply was not the case. He was a Friend. He was one of my best friends.

So when someone you used to have sleepovers with, share your toys with, and talk to girls with sits with you, of course you're going to wonder why.

He was silent.

"I saw you sitting with that kid the other day, I was going to sit with you then. But now I see he isn't here." He said quietly.

"Why would him being  here determine wether you can sit here or not."  I said.

He was silent again.

"I just, we haven't talked in so long. Last time I spoke to you before you left you were a completely different person." He said.

It was true. I went from being a prick and starting fights, kissing girls, wearing shit outfits, to liking boys and painting my nails and being a nicer person.

"Okay, I understand that." I said.

He nodded.

"But I don't understand why you guys had to be so blatantly homophobic to me-"

"That was max and Issac. Max told us if we didn't follow what he said he'd ditch us. I wouldn't of had any other friends benji, neither would Issac."

I pursed my lip.

"Right, so you're being assholes to me because maxipad over there said you had to?" I asked.

He nodded.
"Well, I was." He said.

I furrowed my brows.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, now I'm sitting over here." He said, and smiled, then took a bite of his food.

My eyes were wide. He's not sitting over here to pester me, he's not sitting here because he feels bad. He's sitting here and he traded max for me.

He's sitting here because he wants to.

And that, that thought right there, that had made me the happiest any of my other thoughts have this week.
