Then the chaos started
Max was on his way home from school that evening, not really thinking much on the trip.
Well, thinking one thing.
Ben deserves so much better
Ben didn't get treated right
Ben is special
And finally
Ben deserves someone who loves him
And, as if the universe was trying to align everything together, he stopped when he heard the swing set squeak.
He was by the local park, standing to the side of it, actually.
And, it wasn't like people didn't come to the park pretty regularly, but he had a feeling.
He had a gut feeling, being wrenched and turned all around in his stomach.
He had to look, to see who it was.
So he did, he walked a few feet in front of where he stood, and peaked his head around the corner, looking into the chain linked fence.
There he saw Benji, and Jorge, sitting on the swings.
That's weird, max thought, staring after them trying to draw conclusions from a mental hat.
Then, when he saw the two lean forward time went in slow motion.
He got angrier by the second, and then their lips were placed on each other's, and they kissed.
Max's eyebrows drew together in a mixture of frustration and confusion.
Benji only broke up with Ben for jorge? Max thought, his heart still skipping over every third beat.
Then he came to another conclusion.
One that was false, but from an outsiders perspective, could be seen as true.
"Holy shit, Benji cheated on ben." Max said aloud to himself.
Max was hurt for Ben, it was like anything bad that ever happened to him, he could feel all of it, and seeing that sad look on bens face
Well, that made his heart ache for him.
He had to tell him. So that's what he set off to do.

"Finally you two are together." Milo said, rolling his eyes, nonetheless congratulating the couple.
They were all in an empty parking lot, Benji Jorge and Milo.
They didn't have much to do, but that almost made it better.
Sitting on the ground on a nice warm day in an empty parking lot was relaxing.
It was like a different universe.
Benji rolled his eyes back at milo.
"Just because you like someone, doesn't mean you get together. There were problems that needed to be fixed." Benji huffed, as if milo didn't know all of it.But that sentence resonated with Milo.
Just because you like someone
Milo thought of syd, and the times they kissed.
When they took shots at the party, and Milo knew he liked him.Doesn't mean you get together
Milo frowned.
Should syd and I not get together?
What if he doesn't even like me that way, and he never planned on getting together with me?Milo became silent.
"I hope ben's okay." Jorge said, suddenly and out fo nowhere.
The remaining boys looked to him.
"I mean, he said he loved you, right? I get that you were confused Benji, but he did really get hurt. You were one of his only friends , too. I hope he's okay." Jorge finished.
Benji hadn't thought of it that way.
Yeah, they were friends.
Way before things got complicated and difficult.
Maybe he should talk to them.
"Should I talk to him?" Benji asked.
Milo shook his head.
"You are probably the last person he wants to see, let alone talk to." Milo stated.
Jorge nodded.
"No, I agree. Talk to him, but not now. Give him some time." Jorge said.
Benji nodded.
It got quiet again.
Jorge and Benji cuddled together, holding hands.
Milo, over thinking every move he's had with syd the last weeks.
Milo wondered if they'd go to the dance that was coming up together?
Or if Milo would go with Benji and he'd just end up bumping into syd
Like he always did.
Then, Milo had a thought.
I always look insecure, and caught off guard with syd.
Because syd has so much confidence, that he controls the situation without even thinking about it.
I want to look like I hadn't even planned on seeing him at the dance.
"What if we all went to the dance together." Milo said, a cool breeze blowing over the group, making his hair shuffle into his eyes.
Benji hummed.
"I think that's cool, what do you think?" Benji asked, looking over to jorge.Jorge just simply smiled.
"Yeah, sounds fun. When is the dance?" He asked.
Milo pretended to think about it, as if the poster advertising the dance in their school hallway wasn't constantly plastered in his mind.
"A week." Milo said ," starts at 8 pm ends at 11 pm." He said.
Benji and Jorge both nodded
"I'll just have to ask syd to go dress shopping with me." Jorge shrugged.
Milo's heart rate sped up.
He almost completely forgot Jorge and syd we're friends.
Oh god.
Had syd told jorge about them?
Surly not, Benji was dating Jorge now, meaning Jorge was his friend too.
But
He was syds friend first
And has been for longer
Fuck.
Am I over analyzing? Milo thought, as Benji and Jorge carried out conversation of what all of their color coordinated outfits would be.
What if syd doesn't think we are even anything, not even enough to tell his best friend?
I'm crazy, he thought and silenced his thoughts there.
"Alright milo, are you ready to go?" Benji asked.
Milo nodded, and they all got in Benji's car.
On the way to milo's house he just focuses on the smudges on the windows, and the stitching on the seats.
Anything to take his mind off of syd, and their situation.
Milo thought, once again.
Just because you like someone
Doesn't mean you get together.
