Message

Ben walked me home , although I told him many times he didn't need to.

"Welcome home." My mom said, gesturing for me to sit down at the table.

I hung my bag up, and made my way over to the table and sat beside her.

"Where were you off to?" She asked, handing me chopsticks as she began to eat some of her homemade sushi.

I picked a roll up and put the whole thing in my mouth.

"With Ben." I said , with a mouth full of food.

She swallowed her food and looked at me.

"Sorry, what was that? I don't speak full mouth." She said , jabbing me with the end of her chopstick.

I laughed, and jabbed her back.

"With Ben." I restated, and then took another roll into my mouth.

She nodded, chewing.

"I thought you guys were all mad at each other." She said.

I nodded.
"Me too, but Milo wasn't at school today so ben sat with me. He's okay. I feel like he's gay but I don't want to assume." I said.

She smirked.

I raised my brows.
"What?" I asked.

She started wiggling her brows up and down.
I rolled my eyes and took a bite of some rice.

"Oh! Come on, tell me the tea." She said and messed with my hair.

"I don't think there is any." I said laughing.

"What did you guys do while you were gone?" She asked, and then immediately shoved an entire roll in her mouth.

"Well, he asked for me to just tell him all about summer, and he wanted to ask questions since he hasn't seen me since the ending of last school year." I said.

She nodded.
"So he likes you."

"Yeah exactly- no wait what." I stuttered.

She laughed.
"I'm just kidding, but it's not impossible obviously." She said.

I got a message on my phone.

"Hey, saw you weren't here today, hope you're okay :)"

"Hey. I'm fine, just a cold."

I scrunched my nose. Maybe I'm being overdramatic but I read the text in a weird tone.

"What's wrong?" My mom asked.

"I texted milo earlier today asking if he was okay, and he only just now responded." I said, and showed the screen to my mom.

She read the texts.

"Odd. Maybe check in on him tomorrow, see if he acts weird when you ask him or if he acts uncomfortable, that means something is up." She said.

I nodded.

I got up and scraped my plate, then rinsed it off and placed it in the sink.

I walked up the stairs and plopped on my bed.

Maybe Ben does like me

And if he does

Do I like him? Am I ready to like him?

I miss jorge so much. I know I shouldn't because he practically ghosted me, but I miss him so goddamn much.

And that's when I got a message.

Hey, jorge just blocked me on everything and I'm freaking out. Did I do something wrong? Do you know anything?

Hey, sorry it took so long our school was on lock down because of some drug scandal. No one was allowed any type of technology until the person accused of selling pot spoke up.

My heart was racing. I kind of just thought everyone hated me. I quickly typed back.

Shit, yeah , sorry I got ahead of myself. Weird enough I actually haven't seen him since school started back up. We don't have any classes together.
