( CHAPTER SEVEN )

The Henderson siblings met each other in the hallway that Saturday afternoon. Dustin eyes his sister, she wore a black dress, her hair was curly, and she had black heels. Hailey eyed her brother, he wore a tux and she smiled softly.

"You look handsome, Dusty," Hailey complimented and their Mum meets them both with Mews at her feet.

Today was Will's funeral. Both Henderson siblings knew that there could be a possibility of Will still being alive, yet, neither of them knew that they both think that, as well. So, they had to put on a show and act sad.

"Thanks," Dustin smiled sadly. "You look pretty,"

"Come on, guys," Claudia speaks softly, looking at her two children. She was very thankful that they're alive and well. "We don't want to be late, do we?" Mews mowed unhappily, knowing they were going somewhere without them.

They made their way to the funeral where it's being hosted. Hailey met up with Jonathan and Nancy, they give each other knowing looks.

In the cemetery, they all gathered. Nancy and Hailey stood next to each other near the front. The Byers' family sat on seats, looking down at the cassette. The crowd who had come and support their family stands behind them.

"Fear not," Pastor Charles begins. "For I am with you. But not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Its time like these that our faith is challenged. How, if he is truly benevolent... Could God take from us someone so young, so innocent? I would be easy to turn away from God..."

Hailey blocked out Pastor Charles, her eyes starring ahead. Before she knew it, it was nearly over, the crowd moving inside to have something to eat and drink.

Hailey, Nancy, and Jonathan stayed behind, still in the cemetery, they looked at a map. "This is where we know for sure it's been, right?"

"So thats..."

"Steve's house," Jonathan answered Hailey's question. He lets out a shaky breath. "And thats the woods where they found Will's bike and... That's my house and that's Hailey's house." These are the locations where they have seen the creature.

"Its all so close," Hailey pointed out, looking at the red cross he had marked.

"Yeah, exactly," Jonathan nodded. "I mean, its all within a mile or something. Whatever this thing is, it's... It's not travelling very far."

"You want to go out there," Nancy made eye contact with Jonathan.

Jonathan nods. "We might not find anything."

"We found something." Hailey's eyes widen and she looked down at the map worriedly. "And if we do see it... Then what?"

Jonathan looked away, then looked back at Hailey. "We killed it."

Nearby, Jonathan uses a knife to pick the lock of his father's car glove box compartment. "What are you doing?" Nancy asks as they stand by the car.

"Just give me a second," Jonathan tells them before successfully unlocking the glove box, Nancy glances over her shoulder into the cemetery before looking back at Jonathan.

Jonathan pulls out a revolver and checks the chamber before taking a box of bullets. "Are you serious?" Hailey asks, her eyes widening as she eyes the gun.

"What? You want to find this thing and take another picture?" Jonathan retorts. "Yell at it?" He climbs out of the car and shuts the door, holding the bullets and gun in his hand.
