( CHAPTER EIGHT )
The trio had made it to the Junkyard an hour and a half later, Steve surveys the secluded area littered with abandoned vehicles.
"Oh, yeah," Steve nods. "This will do." The trio had come up a plan to try and trap Dart again and in order to do that, they needed an isolated area. Which, lucky for them, they had one.
"Good call, Dusty," Hailey smiled and Steve glanced at Dustin. Hailey's eyes widen when she realised what she'd done.
"Dusty?" Steve had smirked and Dustin glared at them both.
"Shut up, its a family nickname," Dustin walked closer to the Junkyard. "Meaning only family can use it!"
Dustin scatters meat down the path and Hailey sighed. "He's gonna hate me forever."
"He'll get over it," Steve reassured her as they both walk-in sync without realising it and they both copied Dustin, throwing raw meat on the ground.
Once they reached to the centre of the Junkyard, they dumped the rest of the raw meat in the middle.
"I said medium-well!" They all glanced up and looked as Lucas and the girl, Max, whom Hailey had met the other day next to Lucas and his bike. Lucas grinned and waved at them and they approached them.
"Who's that?" Steve questioned, glancing over at Dustin for a minute before looking back at the fiery redhead. Her hair glows under the sun, making it look like fire in the wind.
Max strolls over with her arms crossed, Lucas beside her along with his bike. Steve catches Dustin gazing at her. "That's Max," Hailey tells Steve, as Dustin wouldn't say anything. "Max this is Steve."
"Hi," Max speaks, her voice flat as she looked at Hailey. She was still very pretty.
Later, Lucas and Dustin crouched beside a car, hiding away from the others while they got to work to have a private conversation. "You told her?" Dustin hissed at Lucas.
"So what?" Lucas looked at Dustin innocently.
"So what?" Dustin mocked.
"You wanted to tell her, too." Lucas fired back.
"But I didn't, all right?" Dustin snapped. "We all agreed not to tell her and to look for Dart."
"Who you conveniently found," Lucas sarcastically responded, rolling his eyes.
"Are you suggesting that I'm lying?" Dustin acted offended, to try to get his friend to believe that he was indeed lying, otherwise, hell will go his way if his friends found out he had him the entire time.
"I'm saying you have a creepy little bond with him," Lucas comments.
"Yeah, that was before he turned into a Demogorgon," Dustin defended, lowering his voice.
"And you haven't heard from Mike?" Lucas questioned Dustin.
Dustin shakes his head. "No."
"Or Will?"
"No," Dustin stressed the word out.
"Hopper?"
"No!" Dustin exclaimed. "No one is around. Why do you think Hailey and I are with Steve Harrington? Somethings-"
"Wrong." Lucas cuts him off, nodding. "I agree. Which is why we need as much help as we can get."
They peeked through the car's missing door to Max who was lifting up a piece of sheet metal, Hailey was beside her helping and they laughed at something Hailey had said.
