"Demi, babe, are you ready to go?" I asked her while tying my shoe.
"Yeah. I'm coming." She replied.
She came downstairs and had a nice summer dress and a denim jacket.
"You look great." I smiled.
"Thanks." She smiled.
She came over to the coffee table and grabbed her keys. I stood up and walked over with her to the door before grabbing my jacket off of the coat rack and my keys off of the hook on the wall.
We decided to go to a nice restaurant and have dinner there. We've been eating inside for a while and I wanted to treat her to something.
We've been having a great night so far. The waiter showed us to our table and it wasn't so crowded.
"This is nice." She said smiling and looking around.
"Yeah. It's all right in here." I replied with a smile.
"Yeah, it's quite fancy, though. What's the occasion?" She asked.
"I just wanted to treat my girl to something nice. You deserve it." I grinned.
She was all flustered and brushed her hair behind her ear.
"Awww. That's so nice." She chuckled.
"Anything for you," I responded.
The waiter came and took our order and within minutes our food had arrived. We ate for a while and I finally paid the bill.
It was getting late and I was going to take her home and pamper her some more. I wanted to make sure she was having fun tonight.
We were walking to our car until I saw someone with blonde hair and blue eyes. She looked familiar. The closer she got, the more her face became recognizable to me. I noticed that it was Meaghan.
Oh, man. It's my ex.
I wanted to say something but it was too late. She's already been a trouble to me after she's cheated and left me for some girl named Jennifer.
"Well, well, well... if it isn't Y/n and Denise?" She asked sarcastically.
"It's Demi." She said as she rolled her eyes.
"Whatever." She said with a sigh.
"How are you doing, Meaghan?" I asked with a tiny smile.
"Terrible. I miss you." She said coming up to me and playing with my jacket.
"Well, I am currently dating. I'm in the middle of something, Meags." I said gently removing her hand off of my jacket.
"I'm not interrupting much, obviously." She replied, folding her arms and looking at a Demi.
"Um... I don't know what your problem is, but I don't have anything to do with it." Demi responded while putting her hands up in defense.
"I don't have a problem. In fact, I don't think I see you as a problem. You're not all that for me to worry about." She said as she waved her hand off.
"Hey, what's your deal, girl?" Demi asked.
"Oh, please. You're not scaring anyone." Meaghan replied while waving Demi off.
I had to intervene somehow, but I was unsure about what to do.
"Aren't you the one who cheated? Yeah, she told me about you." Demi said with an annoyed tone.
"That's none of your business." She replied.
"Obviously, it is if she told me."
"Whatever. She'll leave you one day."
"Hey, you wanna go?" Demi said defensively.
"Well, come on, then!" Meaghan answered while getting closer to Demi.
They were inches apart. It looked like something was going to escalate.
"It's on," Meaghan said to her.
"Your move, bitch," Demi responded.
I moved in between them and stood in front of Demi.
"Look, we're gonna head home now. Uh, Meaghan... I'm happy. Don't bother callin', 'kay? I mean it." I said with a blank face.
I grabbed Demi's hand and we continued on to the car. I opened Demi's door for her to get in and cane to my side.
"Hey, Y/n?" She called out.
I turned around and looked at Meaghan.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to act out. I just got a little jealous. She's lucky to have you." She said with an awkward smile.
"Thanks, Meaghan," I replied.
I sat in the seat and buckled my seatbelt. I drove off to take Demi and me back to the house to finish our night of pampering.
