Whimpers filled the room of the Marauders Dormitory that night. Sirius Black laid there on his back, shaking like a leaf. His stormy grey eyes tightly shut as sweat droplets streamed down his face.

"Come here boy!" Orion Black yelled from the dining room as he slammed his sliver clutter onto the table making Regulus flinch.

Sirius cursed, closing his eyes tightly before slowly making his way down the stairs, creaking slightly as he put his weight on them.

"Y-yes, father?" He stared at him, fear exploding in his eyes.

Orion slammed his hands on the table for the second time, food flying off his plate this time, "Don't you father me! You deserve to be punished for being such filth! Care to tell why you stole some galleons?"

Sirius froze. Him and Regulus had snuck out the previous night to visit Diagon Alley. Sirius brought some things representing Gryffindor, just to brighten up his room, along with pissing off his poor excuse of a family. The oldest Black brother also brought Regulus some sweets. Chocolate Frogs, Liquorice Wands, Sugar Quills and Pepper Imps.

"It was-" Regulus stood up, about to speak.

"Sit down!" His father growled, making Regulus quiver in fear, tears starting to brim to the surface.

"For Merlin's sake you weak boy! Black's don't cry-" Orion slapped Regulus across the face, making him yelp in pain.

"Oi! Don't you dare hurt my brother!" Sirius yelled, clenching his jaw.

"I was the one that stole your money! Regulus had nothing to do with it..."

The boy's father ripped his wand out of the waistband of his trousers.

"Crucio!"

"SIRIUS!"

The Gryffindor shot up, his chest heaving at an unhealthy pace. Sirius slowly turned to look at James before engulfing him into a tight hug. James' eyes widened at first, soon finding myself returning the hug.

"You alright, babe?" Sirius' heart fluttered at the new nickname.

"Y-yea." He pulled away, smiling slightly.

"Here, let's get some hot coca and sit in the common room, aye?" Sirius was hesitant, nodding soon after.

The pair carefully got up and gently closed the door behind them. James and Sirius walked down the stairs, their arms laced together. James set Sirius down on the couch and accioed a blanket, his blanket. James turned around, making his way over to the small kettle that Gryffindor had recently installed and poured some hot water in it.

A few moments had passed, the brunette came back and handed him the cup. Sirius muttered a small thank you before scooting aside so James could fit.

"Alright." James sighed, "Did you want to tell me what happened?"

Sirius shook his head, slightly shaking from the memory.

James looked away for a brief moment, nodding. He took a few moments to think before looking back at Sirius.

"It's going to be fine." He smiled.

The next morning all of the boys were up and ready to head off to breakfast, except one, Sirius. The oldest Black was curled up in his bed sheets as the boys shoved their robes on.

"Padfoot? You alright?" Remus came over, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Sirius immediately jumped two meters, "D-don't hurt me!"

The werewolf stood there, shocked. Remus' amber eyes immediately softened as he moved an inch closer. "Sirius, it's okay. I'm not trying to hurt you." The Gryffindor smiled.

But Sirius still wasn't buying it. He curled up in his bed sheets once again, closing his eyes.

"Don't worry, Moony. He's just had a rough night." James smiled. Sirius knew that James would never tell them,, or would he?

As the boys made their way down the stairs and into the Great Hall for breakfast, they sat down at their usual spot, James immediately hushing them.

"Sirius had a nightmare last night. 'Bloody surprised that you didn't hear it, Moony." James' thick accent lingered as he spoke.

"It was about.. you know." The brunette took a quick glance around to make sure no one was listening in.

Peter dropped his fork while Remus just sat there, thinking. "You reckon he should go and see Pomfrey? Maybe she might have that Dreamless Sleep Potion."

James smirked, nudging Remus in the shoulder as he winced. "You're a ruddy smart lad, you know that, Remus?"

Remus' face turned a slight shade of red as he hid into his sweater. "Oh shut up!"

The two chuckled as James finished his bacon.

"Alright! Next stop, the hospital wing."
