“And that’s Avenged Sevenfold’s new song ‘Carry On’” I grunted and threw the cover off my bed. Great. School. The next song that came on was ‘Iron Maiden, total eclipse’ and I started to sing to it. Whilst I straightened my hair, I looked in the mirror and put on a thick layer of eyeliner and smiled. I slid down the stairs rail, ran to the kitchen and put toast down. When I heard a knock on the door I saw Elliot smiling. “Did you get the shit I asked you to get?” I said excitedly. I couldn’t wait for today’s assembly, time to get pay back on the principle. He smiled and lifted up a bag; I checked inside it and then went up to my room and grabbed my bag. “You ready?” I asked smiling.
“You bet” he returned the smile. I went and put some nutella on my toast then went out the door and into Elliot’s car.
“Hey guys” I said as Elliot pulled up at David’s place. He parked next to where the guys were standing around chatting. They stood there with plastic bags, either in their hands or on the ground next to them
“Sup” the guys all greeted one by one
“Did you bring the shit we need?” Elliot asked them all
“Course we did. Did you guys?”
“Yup” they peered into the car and saw the bags on the back seat and smiled at the thought of what we were going to do. We stood around both Xavier’s and Elliot’s cars talking, waiting until it was time to go to school so we can set everything up. Just before we left to go to school we sorted everything out and put it into our bags so we wouldn’t look to suspicious.
Elliot parked his car and I got out of it and stood there waiting or Xavier and David to arrive. They pulled up not long after we did. Xavier got out of his car smiling at his phone. “Carmen?” Elliot asked
“Yeah” He said looking up smiling. “I don’t know why you guys don’t like her”
“Cause she’s a stuck up bitch” David said matter of factly, making both me and Elliot smile but Xavier was looking pissed at us.
“Come on she’s not that bad when you get to know her”
“Yeah and Hells not bad when you get use to it”
“Dude shut the fuck up! Leave her alone!”
“We don’t like her, she doesn’t like us. It works out perfectly. We both win”
“At least she tries” Xavier stood up straight facing off with David.
“Tries? You’ve got to be kidding me, in case you haven’t noticed-” David started to say, getting right up infront of Xavier.
“Guys” I said pushing myself between the two. “Guys chill. Each to their own opinion” I looked at the two who were glaring at each other. “Change of plans, David and Elliot you goof together and do your bit and me and Xavier will do ours, okay?” David muttered but then he spoke up and agreed. David and Elliot went off to do their bit and then me and Xavier went off to do ours.
“Zoe?” Xavier asked as we started walking off together.
“Yeah?”
“What do you think of Carmen?” he stopped walking, making me stop too.
“Well...”
“I want the truth form you Zoe, please” Crap!
“The truth?” I asked, he nodded “To be truthful, I don’t exactly like her, but you’re my friend so if you like her and she makes you happy. Then I’m happy for you” Lies I told myself big fat lies!!! I looked at him and smiled at him, he returned the smile.
“Thanks man you’re the best”
“Haha I know” I said poking my tongue out causing Xavier to laugh and shake his head.
“You know what?”
“What?”
“We should set you up”
“What why me? Why not the other guys?”
“Cause I can hurt the guy if he hurts you, but if a girl hurts one of the others I can’t hurt them cause hurting girls is not cool”
“You hit me though!”
“Yeah well you don’t count”
“Thanks” I mentally groaned. “But what about David?”
“Nah it’s more fun looking out for a girl not a guy” he laughed obviously over their little spat. I hit him over the back of the head.
“Yeah, yeah. Shut up”
“Do you like anyone?” His cheeky smile came to his face and lit up his eyes
“Na” Lies. Again.
“Ha. You so do. Tell us” he laughed.
“”I so don’t” I argued.
“Whatever” he said in his sing song voice, running off laughing. I ran after him catching up in no time. We stopped when we got to the gym, where the assembly was going to be held. We looked around , making sure that no teachers saw us enter the gym before we got the last part in place.
“Dude teachers coming” Xavier hissed. I set the last little bit of it into place and smiled. Perfect.
“Done, it’s all ready. When he comes boom!” we both ran to catch up with the others who had already started to run off so they wouldn’t get caught. We went out to Elliot’s car and started laughing. “Dude it’ll be awesome if it does work” David said
“Yeah only if we don’t get caught” Elliot called back.
“True. We’ll be in deep shit otherwise”
“Looking on the bright side are we?” I laughed only to get flipped off by the guys
“Talking of bright side, look who’s here” we turned to see Carmen sauntering towards us.
“Come on guys please play nice” Xavier begged us, we all were reluctant but nodded anyway.
“Hey Carmen” He ran up to her and started sucking faces with her, her eyes wide open looking at me with a smirk. Bitch. David whispered into my ear making me smile. If only I could do that without Xavier hating me for doing what David suggested. Elliot looked confused so David whispered in his ear telling him what he told me. Elliot smiled at it too amused by the idea. The bell went signaling it was time to go to assembly. I couldn’t wait for everyone’s reaction. It was going to be a prank that no one would ever forget as long as it went to plan. I grinned at the guys and they grinned back. Carmen just looked confused but shrugged it off ignoring us as per usual she clung onto Xavier's arm with a death grip.
We walked into assembly and sat down towards the back, for the best view of what was about to happen. Elliot sat next to David, I sat between David and Xavier and Xavier sat next to Carmen who was busy focusing on her nails. We watched as more people started to pour into the gym. Ryan and Blake came in with their group of basketballers and other sorts of popular people and sat down at the front. Blake looked up at me and smirked, I just looked away and joint in on whatever the guy were on about. I could hear footsteps I felt David elbowed me and smiled. I smiled back. The timing was perfect. I sat up straighter and saw the door open. Shit! This wasn’t the plan. It wasn’t the principle. “Zoe Adams!” I lifted my head looking behind the guy who was unfortunate enough to have came from and saw Mr Ferguson looking pissed. “Come here now!” I the load of rotten egg dropped on him. I got up and walked down the stairs, getting smiles from some people and the evils from others; mostly the nerds. I looked over towards the guy who ended up being the one who suffered. I smiled. It was the wrong person but it still worked. I got up to Mr Ferguson and smiled which seemed to anger him more.”Go to my office. Now and wait!” He said using his ‘firm’ voice. I walked out the door smiling to myself. I could still hear Mr Ferguson talking to the kid “Mr Smith come here. We’ll sort everything out-“That’s all I managed to hear before I got out of hearing distance. I went to my locker and put everything I was carrying in it. Slamming it shut I’d be in deep shit when mum and dad found out. Great. This was going to be fun.
