Center of Availia

Today was the day me and Brandon we're heading off to the Kings Castle. He was quite a weird king, he never gave people who didn't meet him his name. He said he wanted to be more like a friend rather then a person in power. If you think about it, he sounds nice.
I packed my necessities as the lady said we would be provided with clothes. I grabbed my backpack and left the room. I already said goodbye to Andrea and she asked me if she could have sleepovers with Aila. Since she would be lonely. I walked to the reception and met Brandon there. We went on a mini-bus with the other students and started travelling to the Center. The whole of Availia was mostly suburban and modern. We lived just outside the city center. It was quite nice that our country was rich. Other countries were poor and shabby, lots of struggle and crime.
We soon arrived at the castle, wow. The king must be very rich, it was decorated as elaborately as my college. I was nervous and excited, this was a big opportunity. We all stepped out the car and stood there. Two men came up to us in the kings uniform.
"Please follow us children."
We all followed and arrived at the main hall. The king was sat on his throne. He looked young and bright. He stood up as the guards stood beside his throne.
"Welcome children, to my home. Like Miss Abe said at your school, you will be my personal guards. This is purely for experience and opportunity. Also for getting to know the royal community. If you students do well and become good friends with the royal community, you can come visit us whenever you want."
We walked up to him and all shook his hand. I was the last one to shake his hand.
"Kaia Silverstorm? What a pleasure."
"Right back at you my king."
"No need for I you to call me that now, my name is Gabriel. Call me Gabriel everyone."
"Now time for you to go to your rooms, unfortunately the maids mixed up the plans. You will be sleeping in the same room as your partner. Is that okay?"
Some blushed and some confidently nodded. I nodded, I knew Brandon quite well now.
"Okay please follow the maids, I will see you later." The maids escorted us to our rooms. I didn't really know what to think about sleeping in the same room as Brandon. Sort of good and sort of not. The rooms were also big and prestigious. The beds we were big and thankfully we didn't have to sleep in the same bed. The maids gave us leaflets to tell us in more description what we were doing. We were basically being CCTV around the castle. We would spectate what would happen in order to protect the king and his occupants. The uniforms were quite nice. They were black leggings with a belt for a dagger to sit in it. We had two inch boots that were pretty nice. The top was off the shoulder and had a brown corset. The top was a deep forest green and made of the kings finest silk. It was pretty much the same for the boys. But their neck was covered, it sort of gave more of a masculine look. I was excited to work for the king and also work with Brandon.
Soon I woke up, I walked to the bathroom quickly. I didn't really want Brandon to see me with a puffy face, I did my makeup and also got changed. I could hear him getting ready in his bathroom a bit soon after I got in mine.
I walked out and put my pajamas next to my bed. He also walked out.
"Morning Brandon."
"Good morning Kaia, ready for today?"
"As ready as I will ever be."
"Aha, you ready to go now then?"
"Yep, let's go."
We arrived at the kings guards room. It was a dark room with weapons and a map of the palace on the wall. All of the successful applicants were also here. A well-built man walked over to us students.
"Okay kids, I will assign you where you patrol. Every no and then you check the CCTV. Now be careful. You are the only guards surrounding the palace, we depend on you. You also need to keep in check with your other team mates. You have earpieces and you can hear another person in another pair. Kaia Silverstorm and Libby Wilson, Brandon Blaze and Anna Harper. And last but not least, Tyler Redding and Teddy Lee. Press the ear pieces button to record a message, after you are done it will automatically send. You will also automatically hear what your partner is saying. Please now meet your partner so you have good communication skills."
He walks over to his partner signalling us to do so. I look around and I see Libby. I knew her because she was really good at art. We had the same art class, Arts of Magic. She sounded nice, I don't know if she ever noticed me.
She had blonde hair and a messy bob, she gave off a calming look.
"Um..hi, I'm Libby."
She was nervous? I didn't really expect that from a popular girl, she was everyone's friend.
"Hey,I'm Kaia. So we're partners huh, sounds fun."
"Yeah, this trip is pretty cool."
"So what are you, I'm a Phoenix."
"I'm a fairy."
"Nice! That explains why you are kind and loveable."
She blushed, I'm guessing she liked getting compliments a lot. She had rosy cheeks.
"Oh thanks so much, I'm excited to work together. This will be fun."
"Yeah, definitely."
The man suddenly walks over to us again.
"Okay that's enough time. Now go off to where you are assigned. It's on the board over to your right, good luck."
Everyone looked over to the board and it had a list and time changes. I was first by the back of the castle, to the south of the gate.
