Trouble

We heard two men approaching and come into the same room as us. We heard silence, the worst thing we could hear. Silence.
I felt a hand come under the table and drag me out.
"You've been caught, idiot."
I stood and he grasped on the back of my uniform. The other guard dragged Brandon out.
"Don't call her that!"
Brandon scrambled and was trying to get out of the grasp of the guard. I looked at Brandon and honestly frowned. That look said "We failed, we are in deep trouble."
The guard attempted to drag me up the dark hallway and I slightly resisted. He was right snarky, I dirty looked him hard. The guard dragging Brandon followed us. They took us to the hall. King Gabriel sat there with an angry expression, god he looked so mad.
"Are you ashamed of yourselves?"
The guards forced me and Brandon onto our knees, we were facing the king.
"Breaking most of the palace rules, rebelling against me, trying to expose me! Well done, you both have great investigating skills. Your both very brave and loyal to each other."
He smiles. I don't understand?
"This was a test, the others are still doing nothing. This was a test of independence and bravery. The maids here and willing. That room is put up for the test."
Me and Brandon didn't really have a facial expression. We were confused. This was a bit sick if you think about it. BANG! Suddenly the main door flung open. Rebels! A woman stepped in-front of them.
"Time for a talk Gabriel."
The other rebels took the other guards down.
"Minira. Get out!"
He actually looked angry. Maybe the other thing was a test but this seemed real.
The rebellion was poor people who didn't like rich prissy people, aka the King and his people. They never saw the good in them and therefore rebelled. They lived in dark alleys and were always hidden. I looked at Brandon, he looked worried. I stood up and grabbed Brandon by his hand. I dragged him into a hallway. I could hear the struggle and tension in the room. I think the leaders knew each other, they were shouting at each other. All hell was about to break loose. I pressed the button to record on my earpiece.
"Libby, rebels are here. Alert more guards and try to reduce the amount of rebels coming in."
"Kaia, let's go to the control rooms."
He wanted to try limit the amount of rebels coming in the palace. We ran to the control rooms and entered the code to get in. I flicked the switches to the entrances, now we are going into lockdown. Brandon flicked some switches and locked all the windows and doors.
"Brandon I'm going to go to the hall, I need to protect king Gabriel."
"No Kaia I will go! I'm not putting you in danger."
"I am going, your not!"
"Fine, both of us."
I ran up to him and gave him a tight squeeze, this was a sign of "Please stay safe and I care about you deeply." I stepped away and we both went into our Phoenix forms. We parted and went separate ways to the hallway. I flew as fast as I could. I flew up to the roof and perched on the chandelier. Gabriel was fighting with magic against Minira. I could tell he was weak. I flew down and hovered in front of Gabriel. Minira looked mad and she was about to really hurt me, I could tell. I threw a fire sphere to Minira. She got knocked over and looked even more mad. She began conjuring up a massive sphere, I don't know what it was. She was about to hit me. Everything happened to quick and I tried to make a protection spell around Gabriel. In the corner of my eye I saw a Brandon sweep towards me trying to knock me off of Minira's path. She hit me with this great energy sphere. I screeched in agony and laid on the ground. From then I blacked out, didn't remember a thing.
My eyes wearily opened. Surrounding me was a white room. I was in the college hospital, the accents of gold were till there. I opened my eyes wider and I could see Brandon sitting by the bed.
"Kaia, your awake!"
I smiled, I was very weak. I must of had force trauma from Minira's sphere of energy.
"How did I get here?"
"I took you."
What a charmer, he is the sweetest thing. I faintly remember him swooping down and trying to get in front of me. He was trying to protect me, I once again blushed.
"Thank you so much Brandon, what happened to Minira?"
"I managed to take her down, after I took you here. King Gabriel went off with his guards."
The nurse walked in the room.
"Hello dear, I'm glad your awake. We want to keep you in here just for one more day so you can heal. You took quite a hit Kaia. Also you protected the King. You may be awarded with something by the headmaster of the school."
"I hope you do Kaia, you deserve it."
I smile at both of them, the nurse and Brandon. Andrea and Aila stumble into the room. They say together,
"KAIA!". They come running over to me and hug me tightly.
"Hey guys, I'm so happy to see you."
Andrea looked happy and so did Aila, that was good.
"Well you have been up to a lot since I have been gone!"
