"God, I know. Never thought a trip would end up like that."
Aila decided to have her say on the conversation.
"What happened at the castle then?"
"Well two weird things. We were tested by the King for some reason. Then the Rebellion came to the castle. Honestly I'm confused about this whole situation."
"The king tested you? That's weird, creepy even."
"I know, I don't really know what to think of it."
Brandon was sat next to the bed with a confused expression.
"Kaia, well at least your fine now."
He cares, that just lights up my heart. This care he has for me is something I truly admire. The nurse walks back into the room and stands just beside Aila and Andrea by the bed.
"Okay, dear your friends have to go now. Your out of here tomorrow anyway and you can see them then."
"Okay, thanks."
Andrea frowns and then signals with her hands "We love you.". I blow a kiss back. Brandon stands up.
"I hope you get better quickly Kaia, see you soon."
"Bye, thanks for protecting me too."
I smile at him as he leaves.
The night goes by quick, this bed is so comfortable! I'm excited to go back to my room and my normal life. This trip was a bit overwhelming, everything happened to quick. I really did miss this college though, I see it as my home now. The trip was good but it was still all a blur. The headmaster came into my room, I wonder what he was doing here?
"Hello headmaster."
"Hello young Kaia, you can call me headmaster Roland."
"Okay."
"I care here to talk to you. The rest of the people that were on the trip have been transported back here. We never knew that the castle would really be ambushed that bad. You also took it well. You protected the King and saved his life."
He passed me a letter with my name on it.
"This is from the King, he didn't to overwhelm you. So he wrote on this letter instead. Next assembly we will address your bravery and the young man's too. I will see you next assembly, heal well. I smiled at him as he walked out the room. Hopefully the other students are okay, I blacked out and didn't know what else happened. I picked myself up and went over to my clothes Andrea had dropped off yesterday. I changed and left the hospital gown on the seat. I walked through the much missed hallways, the vibe already set me at ease. I arrived at my room.
"Good morning Andrea."
"Aww Kaia, your back for good now! I'm not letting you go on a trip without me for a long time.
"My suitcase is here?"
My suitcase must have been dropped off since my stay of the palace had ended.
"Some maid dropped it off, she looked fancy."
"Nice." I chucked, Andrea will never stop making me laugh.
I settled in and I tidied my room. I wasn't going to classes today, the nurse advised me not to. Instead I went to the library. I decided to research more about being a Phoenix and my powers. I just needed to learn more, it was good to learn about what I am.
I arrived at the library and I honestly felt at home again, it was so cosy. The book read " Phoenix's are only in 4% of the population, there are very little around. They hold special powers and abilities. Most likely the mother and father would have been in touch with the gods. Phoenix's have strength and so they have to protect people of the world."
That's weird, my mother always said about her feeling connected and seeing the gods in her dreams. My mother said she always saw the gods in a light place, like heaven. She said there were eight thrones and each were decorated differently. If this was true I hope I could go there one day. Anyway, I had to get back to the book.
" Phoenix's turn out to be great leaders with high power. A lord or lady, god or goddess. Few have remained civilians."
Hm, interesting.
The night passed and I was back to classes. Andrea and Aila were excited to have me back with them, I thought so too.
I was currently at my team meeting, I hadn't really been to a lot since I hadn't been here long. Professor Aeral was a very kind tutor to me and Aila. He showed us lots of tricks with your powers.
"So if you ever see a fire, do this spell. I will assure you it will kill it."
"Wow thanks Professor, it's a very cool spell."
"Yeah, I'm sure we will use it one day."
Professor Aeral chuckled in amusement.
"So how has it been here, fun?"
"Yeah it's been good."
"Definitely occupying too."
"Oh yes, that trip you were on definitely was. Except from the ambush, how was it?"
"Good, it was definitely beneficial for my learning too. I learnt about culture and about the King."
"Wow, seems like you have learn a lot. Sorry to cut this short Aila and Kaia but I must be off."
"Okay, goodbye Professor."
"Bye, have a nice day."
"Well that was fun Aila, ready to practise our spells?"
"Yes!"
Aila conjures an electric sphere. She then puts it above my head and makes my hair go up. God, this girl!
"Ah stop, your ruining my hairline!"
We both laugh and enjoy the moment.
I pick up my hands and conjure a water sphere, I take it above her eye.
"Kaia, not my mascara. Please, please no."
She says the sentence while laughing.
"I will spare you because I love you."
I move it onto my hand, I make a little whirlpool.
"Oh thank god, I do not put on this mascara just to get it ruined."
