"Thank you, sir." nakangiting sagot ko. "If you'll excuse me."
Tumango lang ang professor at nag-bow ako bago lumabas ng faculty room.
"Ano, bro, how was it?" Kiel asked.
I showed him a goofy smile. "Released na."
"Shit. Kinakabahan ako." I saw Meina fidgeting at Kiel's side.
"How was your grade?" tanong naman ni Dashiel.
I only smiled. I don't want to brag but I know they already knew.
"Sus, I bet uno na naman 'yan." Kiel snickered.
"Perfect talaga!" Toto exclaimed.
Meina dragged Kiel and Dashiel's arms. "Tara na sa comlab! I wanna see my grades!"
I held the sling of my backpack and followed Meina. "No one's perfect, Toto. I'm sure your grades are okay." I told Toto.
He proudly raised his chin. "Sure thing."
"Sorry to burst your ego, man. Mas mataas parin kay Levi." Kiel butted in while he was being dragged by Mei.
"Edi siya na perfect!" Toto laughed while dodging me.
We arrived at the computer lab but it was full. Lumabas na kasi halos lahat ng grades kaya siguro maraming tao ngayon.
Lumapit ako sa dalawang babae na nagkukwentuhan sa tapat ng computer. They looked up when I stood right beside them and their eyes widened upon recognition of my face.
"Hi." I smiled at them and they blushed. "Do you mind if I use the computer? Titingin lang kami ng mga kaibigan ko sa grades namin."
They immediately stood up. "S-sure!"
"T-tapos naman na kaming gumamit."
I flashed them again my killer smile. "Thank you."
"Lakas ng charms talaga." Meina commented when the girls left. Tinawanan ko lang siya.
"I can also do that!" Toto exclaimed.
"Sige nga." panghahamon ni Kiel at pinatulan naman ni Toto.
"Dashiel," I called. "You wanna go first?"
"Nah," he shrugged and pointed Mei. "Mei, you go first."
Agad namang tinuro ni Meina ang sarili niya. "Huh? Bakit ako? Kiel, you go first!"
Kiel just smirked. "Chickens!" he hissed then sat in front of the computer and logging in. "Wait, wanna make a bet?"
"Guys, I logged in na!" Toto exclaimed then laughed.
"Doon nalang ako kay Toto." Dashiel said and walked towards Toto.
"Ano, kung sinong makakakuha ng highest GPA will treat us again?" Mei asked. "Ang unfair nun kay Levi!"
"Levi will be out of this because we all know he's perfect." Kiel dismissively waved his hand. "Toto! Wanna bet on who'll get the highest GPA in this sem? Levi's not counted in!"
Toto, who was just two chairs away, looked excited. "The usual grade bet? Sure!"
Napailing nalang ako. These kids.
In the end, it was Dashiel who got the highest GPA among the four of them garnering 1.462. Toto was only the second having 1.493. Hindi ko talaga sila maintindihan minsan. They wanted high grades, and they also want the free treat.
