Chapter XIV: Happy Birthday

"Look, guys, Mr. Perfect is lookin' gloomy."

I glared at Kiel and he just laughed. "Stop messing with me Kiel. I'm not in the mood." I boringly said.

"PMS-ing, Leviticus?" Mei teased.

"Baka nag-away sila ni Lucy babes niya." That was Toto.

I grunted and just closed my eyes. It was our vacant time and we decided to hang out at the mini park inside the university. We were under a big old tree. Dashiel, Meina and I were sitting on a bench while Kiel and Toto were sitting on the thick root protruding from the ground beside the bench.

They laughed at my reaction. I should've just went to the library to review instead of hanging out with these people.

"What's wrong?" I opened my eyes and saw Dashiel looking at my way.

What's wrong? I don't even know. I don't understand myself anymore! I want to divert my attention but the scene from inside the restaurant's comfort room of Black and I the other night just kept on invading my head! At dumagdag pa 'yung D na 'yun. Ugh!

Wait—why do I even care about them?!

I think I really need a therapist–or a psychologist perhaps because I think I'm already crazy. This is getting out of hand.

I told myself that I must forget about her but it seems like destiny has its way of crossing our paths. Lalo pa ngayon na bodyguard pala siya ni Lucy. She'd be everywhere.

I shook my head. "Just tired." sabi ko nalang. Buti pa 'tong si Dashiel tahimik lang if he's not concerned. I really don't understand why I befriended these three idiots.

"Then rest." he said then returned to the book he was reading.

Meina who was between Dashiel and I hooked her slim arms on our necks. "Stop stressing yourself, guys. Malapit na tayong grumaduate." she said mischievously.

"Stop stressing ka dyan." Toto whined. "Kaya nga tayo naii-stress dahil graduating na tayo! Mamatay na ako sa hirap ng thesis namin, mga walang pakinabang pa mga kagrupo ko!"

Kiel laughed at Toto then winked at a girl passing by. The group of girls giggled at his deed.

"Pakboy talaga." Mei rolled her eyes and I chuckled.

"Just say if you're jealous, Mei. I'd be willing to let you taste me." Kiel teased.

"Not in a million years, asshole!" Meina acted vomiting then faced Dashiel. "Dash, oh. Si Kiel inaaway ako." sumbong niya.

"Luh?" Toto reacted.

Dashiel looked up and turned to Kiel. "Stop it, Kiel."

"Luh! Nilabanan nga!" Toto laughed. "Kayo ah. Yiie."

"Dash, want to know a secret?" Kiel asked and Dashiel nonchalantly looked at him. "Meina's been crushing on you!"

My eyes widened because of what Kiel said. That asshole! "Kiel!" I exclaimed but the bastard just laughed.

I looked at Dashiel and Meina beside me to see their reactions. Meina was fiercely blushing with wide eyes while Dashiel was staring at her.

"Relax, guys! I was just kidding!" I heard Kiel awkwardly laughed.

I turned to Kiel. "Very funny, Kiel. Very." I said, my voice filled with sarcasm.

Muntik na akong mahulog sa inuupuan ko nang biglang tumayo si Meina. "Kiel Philemon dela Torre!!!" she shouted then ran towards Kiel. Kiel was fast enough to ran away before Mei got him.
