"How was school, anak?"
Mama asked as we were eating our breakfast. I wiped the table napkin on my lips before speaking. "Good, Ma. I'm graduating with Latin honors."
"I'm proud of you, Leviticus." Papa said and tapped my shoulder.
Mama stood up from her chair and went up to hug me. "Oh my gad! I'm so proud of you, dear!"
"Thanks, Ma, Pa." I smiled widely at them.
"This calls for a celebration!" Mama squealed, returning to her chair.
"What celebration?"
We all looked at the entrance of the dining room when someone came.
"Kuya!" excited kong sabi.
"Exodus!"
My brother smiled widely as he walked towards the table. Mama stood up to kiss his cheeks. Lumapit din siya kay Papa para bumati tapos ay sa akin.
He gave me a fistbump before sitting beside me. "So, what are we celebrating? I think I heard someone called for a celebration." he said.
Mama beamed. "Your brother is graduating with a Latin honor, just like you, Exo." she proudly said.
Exo looked at me with wide eyes. "Really? Wow, congrats, li'l bro!" he said then messed my hair.
I jokingly slapped his arms away. "Just cum laude, you graduated Summa." I said.
He grabbed me and playfully hooked his arm on my neck. "Oh, you little prick. This really calls for a celebration!" he exclaimed.
"Of course, it is!" Sumabay naman si Mama.
Lumayo na ako kay Kuya at inayos ang buhok ko. "It's too early, people. One semester away pa ang graduation ko." giit ko. For all I know baka magpapa-party na naman 'to si Mama.
"That doesn't stop us from celebrating! I'm yours today, Fam. 'Di ba, Pa?" nakangising tanong niya sa kay Papa na tahimik lang na umiinom ng kape niya.
Papa looked up and sighed. "Okay fine. I'll call my secretary to arrange your sched." sabi niya at bumalik na sa pagbabasa ng news sa iPad niya. He shook his head a little but his smile didn't slip away from my sight.
I smiled too.
We planned on what we'll do today since it's Sunday. We decided to just hangout here in the house while Mama would cook for us just like when we're still little and then we'll go out for dinner later. Good thing day off ng mga helper kaya kaming pamilya lang sa bahay.
"Hay.. Ang bilis niyong lumaki." Mama dreamily said. "Parang kailan lang you two are so baby pa. Ngayon pwede ng maging baby daddy." she joked at nagpapahid pa ng imaginary luha niya.
I laughed at my mother. "Ma, baka nga may baby na 'tong si Kuya. We haven't seen him for like two months!"
"I have no baby!" he defended. "I don't even have a girlfriend." he grunted.
Sabay kaming tumawa ni Mama. Pati si Papa napatingin kay Kuya.
Who would've thought that this perfect guy doesn't have a girlfriend? He's got the looks, the brains, the good attitude at sa pagkakakilala ko dito gentleman naman. Tama talagang no one's perfect.
Exodus Aquino, my brother. He was 6 years older than me and was now the current COO of Dad's company. He seldom visit the house since he had his own condo near our company. He moved out after he graduated and started living on his own while working.
"Inunahan ka pa nitong kapatid mong may girlfriend na, Exo!" Mama exclaimed then had a sad face. "Gusto ko na ng apo, boys. It's so lonely here. I want little babies to take care of." she pouted.
