The story of my first best friend is actually quite interesting. I met her in Kindergarten (she is the same best friend who was also dating my boyfriend (Marine Guy) later but that guy had like 4 girlfriends so I don't blame her.) Anyway, I did not know her very well in Kindergarten but I knew of her. And for some reason I had decided I hate her. I never talked to her but I was full of passionate hate whenever I saw her. Funny enough she also hated my guts. Neither of to this day know why we hated each other but we did.
Our relationship changed in one day at the readathon. The readathon was 1 day a year where the entire school got to come to school in pajamas and bring pillows and blankets. The whole day was free for us to read and sleep. Most people slept however me and the girl who I hated for no reason were the only ones who actually brought books. When we entered the classroom and saw our bags of books, we decided to introduce ourselves. We shared our names and soon we began to share our books and somehow within this one day we went from hating each other to loving each other and became each other's sisters. We were both only children, so we always wanted a sibling. We became sisters.
Now I'm gonna call the girl (my new best friend) Child Killer. This is a nickname I gave her in middle school which I will explain later. I would like to point out that she did not kill children. Now Child Killer and I became close very quickly soon we were having playdates at each other houses and sleepovers. We shared everything books, thoughts, emotions and even boyfriend (unknowingly). Now one thing you need to know about Child Killer and I's relationship is by all means it should not have worked. We are exact opposites. I am extroverted and she is introverted. I am trusting and she is suspicious. I give my love freely and say I love you a lot. She only says I love you on my birthday (the words I love you are special to her and mean a lot whenever she says them). I tend to talk a lot and she is quiet. But for some reason we were exactly what the other needed. She taught me to listen and I taught her to open up.
To this day we are still friends and we are actually going to room together my 3rd year of college. However, over ten years of friendship comes a lot of stories.
For example, there's the time in lower school where I almost killed her. In PE, we were playing tennis and a couple kids and I got into a competition on who could hit the ball the hardest. Well, I hit the ball as hard as I could and it went flying right towards Child Killer. It ended up knocking her over and she couldn't breathe for a couple seconds. All in all she fine but she wont let me forget about it to this day. Whenever she wants something and I don't want to do it she will remind me I almost killed her. It's a joke between us now.
Another story is about our first fight. This happened around 4th or 5th grade I believe. We never fought we could always just talk things out. However, our first fight was crazy. She came over to my house around Thanksgiving and my family being the overachievers that we are already had the Christmas tree up. Now before Child Killer had to leave, we were hanging out around the Christmas Tree. She started looking at the ornaments and began to touch them. I always loved my ornaments and for some reason I felt like she was gonna break them. So I asked her to stop touching them but she got angry (in her words she said she didnt like being told what to do.) So she ended up giving me the silent treatment for 2 weeks. I kept trying to apologize since I shouldnt have told her to stop but I was ignored. Finally I made her a card and soon all was forgiven and we moved on. That's actually the only fight we ever had, and it shouldn't have been a fight but oh well things happen.
Also, one thing my parents always like to tease me and Child Killer about is the ract we have broken 2 beds. Yes that's right. The first time, Chikd Killer and I were playing in a guest bedroom in my house. I dont remember exactly what we were doing but we were jumping around in the bed when suddenly we heard a large crack and the bed tilted. When soon got off the bed and discovered we had broken the bed frame. Needless to say our parents were not happy.
The second time we broke a bed happened a couple years later. Child Killer and I were sitting on my bed just talking. No jumping or moving what so ever. We were having a serious conversation when all of a sudden "crack" and we were thrown back a little. Turns out once again we broke a bread frame. Our parents were upset and kept blaming us but we tried to explain we were just sitting. Finally they believed us and I got a new bed frame (which is way better than the old one).
Now Child Killer has been there for me a lot but I assume you actually want to know why I call her child killer. Well, in middle school I got into writing. I actually wrote my first novel in 7th grade. In this novel I made Child Killer a character in the novel called Lila. Now Lila was the main characters best friend who ends up taking a bullet for the main character. The main character thinks Lila died for several chapter but soon discovers Lila never died but was kidnapped by the enemy. So Lila did not die. But Child Killer always blamed me for killing her off. We argued about this topic for years (it is still unresolved to this day). One of my favorite memories is us arguing about me killing her in lunch line and all the teachers and staff around looking at with so much confusion and concern.
Now, I digress. When I started writing, Child Killer also started writing. Her first story opened with the main character accidentally killing her 8-year-old friend when the main character loses control of her powers. So I've called her Child Killer ever since because she killed a child in her first chapter.
All in all that's my best friend Child Killer.
