it's nearing dusk, the dragon and phoenix finally reached the school to be greeted with all of the students and the teachers. spinel helped peridot to get off first then she came down next.

spinel looked around for any signs of you if you've already arrived "y/n?" she mumbled before getting mobbed by pestering students that are visibly worried or just wanna ask questions.

"p-please, get away from me." spinel said as she backed up from the crowd, then someone accidentally bumped their elbow on the burnt spot where the engraved mark is.

spinel's eyes glowed violently, she transformed into a wolf and roared to make the students back up. "spinel!!" a voice from behind said.

spinel turned around to see you and peeps riding a griffin along with a blue haired girl behind them, spinel's tail wagged vigorously and ran towards you at full speed.

you jumped down the griffin, spinel turned back into a human and tackled you into a tight hug. you two almost fell to the ground but spinel kept balance "geez, you better control your anger pup." you said before ruffling her hair.

spinel pushed your hand off her hair and gave you a wide smile "i'm glad that you're okay." spinel looked at peeps who's still on top of the griffin, she jumped up and also tackled peeps into a tight hug.

peeps laughed as she hugged her best friend back "calm down spinel, we're okay!" spinel helped peeps get down the griffin, then the lapis jumped down garnet and ran towards peridot who's also running towards to.

"lapis!!"

"peridot, you idiot!" lapis pulled peridot into a hug and broke down on the ground. "you're covered it shit." lapis whispered and her head is met with a smack by peridot.

"ha! we beat you! your 20 dollars please." amethyst said while offering her hand to garnet, garnet pulled out her visor and a 20 dollar. she puts on a straight face as she gave the money amethyst.

"is everyone okay?!" a high pitched voice said, a pale fairy flew over to the scene "yeah they're fine pearl, maybe a little shower would do."

"y/n, spinel!" you turned your head to see steven and connie running towards you. you smiled widely, as steven stopped in front of you, he panted heavily before speaking.

"what happened last night?! did you guys really fight those fallen angels?!" your eyes widened as you remembered those fallen angels "yeah, did you guys find out who sent them?" steven nodded.

"it's some guy named jacob in your and steven's class." connie answered, you heard spinel growl behind you. "that asshole! where is he?!" you placed your hand on spinel's shoulder before she does anything rash.

"the principle expelled him, so it's all good." steven said, "what about the fallen angels?"
"they took them to polygon, they made a proper burial for the dead one." connie said.

"thank gods you students are okay." the principle said as he walked into of the crowd, "i bet all of you had a long day. please rest up, all of are excuse for the whole week." you grinned widely, you turned your head to spinel who's also grinning.

"thank you sir!" all of them bowed down, the principle smiled softly and nodded before walking off. "stevie! you heard that! no classes for a week!!" amethyst said ecstatically.

"for you, we still have one." steven said with dismay. all of you started walking inside the campus, "you guys know each other?" you asked, steven nodded "yeah! meet garnet, pearl and amethyst. they raised me along with my human dad."

you look shocked "there's still humans?!"
"i thought they died for sport." spinel said, you nodded along with that. steven chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck "he isn't the only one. i'm half werewolf, my dad is a werewolf." connie said.

"fascinating, just how many humans do you think are out there?" peridot butted in, steven and connie shrugged "we haven't really met any half human half creatures other than ourselves."

as all of you are slowly dispersing by going through different hallways, you said your goodbye to steven and connie, then peridot and peeps are they really are roommates.

as you and spinel finally got to your dorm, you twisted the handle open and met in the unchanged room. just like the two of you left it, you collapsed onto the bed getting comfy at the softness of the bed.

you let out a deep sigh and turned your body facing up the ceiling with your hands behind your head, "i almost forgot how soft a bed can get." you chuckled.

you looked over spinel's bed, you saw her hand placed on her chest near her heart. you stood up "what's wrong?" spinel shook her head and looked at you "nothing, i.. saw the person who took care of me earlier."

you stood up and walked at spinel's bed, you sat down next to her and listened to whatever she'll say. "i don't know if i should be happy or sad. i'm glad i could see her again but she only has a year to live." spinel said lowly almost whispering.

"then she gave me a mark." she lightly tapped her chest she's holding earlier "can i see it?" spinel raised an eyebrow at you. "why?"

"i'm curious and i wanna see if i can recognise it." spinel huffed, "whatever you say." she raised her hoodie and fully took it off, bandages are wrapped around her right chest. this made you worry.

"did your caretaker tattoo the mark or-"

"she used the metal thing that has symbols and stuff." you frowned "how- why- that fucking hurts!!" spinel nodded "i see feel it stinging."

you sighed, you grabbed the end of the bandage from behind and started unravelling it. you carefully untied all of the bandages wrapped on her, as all of it is off.

spinel's skin is in irritated red surround the burnt mark engraved onto her skin, the cold wind hitting the exposed burn made spinel hiss slightly while biting her bottom lip.

the mark has a star circled with a sun flare of some sort. "an anti possession mark?" you looked at spinel "yeah that's what she said."

"but why??" spinel shrugged, she grabbed the bandages off you hand and gripped it tightly. "just what exactly is your caretaker? a demon hunter? or a-!"

you were cut off by a soft pair of lips pressing against yours, you looked to see who's kissing you and it's;

spinel.

spinel pushed her body onto you making you backed up to the wall. as the kiss ended, spinel's eyes changed color into yellow but then suddenly returned to it's original magenta hue.

spinel looked you then at the position both of you are in, her face blew up in with blush. she immediately stood up, grabbed her hoodie and ran out of the dorm. leaving you again in thought.

you touched your lips, the scene kept on repeating on your head. soon enough, your blood started to travel up to your cheeks, your whimpered and covered your face.

"what just happened..."
