Chapter 1

Peridot's P.O.V.

I stared at the sky and watched Lapis fly away with the barn. Steven had tried to convince me to come back to his house with him. I just ignored him. I stared at the sky as Lapis and the barn got smaller and smaller until they disappeared. I reached my hand out towards the sky as tears streamed down my face. I layed on the ground and curled up in a ball and sobbed. Steven picked me up and began dragging me over to Lion. I reached my hand towards where Lapis had disappeared to. I watched as my hand got farther away. I screamed and got out of his grasp. I ran back to the hole that replaced the barn.

"Peridot, let's go. You can go back to your bathroom." Steven said nudging my shoulder

"No, I'm going to wait for her." I said wiping away my tears

"You can't stay here forever." He said placing his hand on my shoulder

"Watch me." I said determined

"I'm not going to leave you here." He said sitting down next to me

"But she did.." I said as my vision blurred

"Don't worry we'll find her.." He said as he dragged me into Lion's back

I didn't struggle this time. I just gave into my cruel new life. I looked back and watched as my old home disappeared.
