Chapter 21

The trio was on their way to the Kyodaina Village. They can felt various chakra coming from beside that mountain. Naruto and Sasuke sure that some of people living there was a shinobi too.

After a while riding with Sasuke's hawk, they stop at a place near a river.

"Its getting dark, so it'll be a good idea if we stay and take rest for now." Naruto spoke and help Karin to get down.

"Arigatou." She murmured replied by a smile from him.

Sasuke looked around for a while and said. "I'm going to find woods, its going to be cold." He paused and look at Karin. "Stay here with Naruto."

Karin nodded bluntly.

Naruto smiled. "Ha'i." Naruto put his hand around his cousin's shoulder and sit her down gently under a tree. "Ne, imouto-chan you good there."

He himself making a handseal and concentrate it on his palm.

Karin who was watching him, a bit confused. "What are you doing Naruto?" She asked.

Naruto then spread his hand above and secure the place. A few leaves fell due to the chakra.

"I made a barrier, in case someone attack us."

That made Karin a little bit scared and unconsciously held her tummy. "I see."

"Oh? Don't worry imouto-chan, you have me and Sasuke. We'll protect you no matter what 'ttebayo!" He shows her his thumbs up.

"Naruto...daijoubu." Karin waves her hands.

"Nani imouto-chan, we're all in this together 'ttebayo!"

Her eyes soften. "Ha'i, arigatou." She smiled. "Nii-san."

He grinned and happy that Karin called him Nii-san again.

After a while, Sasuke came back with woods in his hands and gather it in the middle of the clear ground.

In the middle of the woods, fire vaguely visible.

The trio has just done their small dinner.

Karin was staring at somewhere and was daydreaming of something. Beside her was Sasuke and not far in front of them was Naruto.

Naruto can see that somehow the two person can be so attached to each other and naturally close. It was amusing to see them sometimes.

"Hey, Sasu-" Naruto was about to call the raven-haired man but interrupted when he felt something entering the barrier.

Sasuke come to his sharpest sense. "The summoned bird, Naruto. From Konoha if i'm not mistaken." He said. 'Is it from my wife?' He thought.

He allow the bird to enter through the barrier and extendes his hand for the bird to land.

"Kai!"

He took a piece of paper from the bird and open it.

"It was from Hokage, Kakashi-sensei." He said, still calling the Sixth Hokage as his sensei.

"What did he wrote?" Sasuke asked.

Naruto took some time to read and his expression was a bit surprised.

Sasuke wait for him.

"Gomene Sasuke, I need to go back to Konoha." He said slowly. Deep inside he wanted to stay with them especially his cousin.

Sasuke took the paper and read it. He nodded slightly and return back the paper to him. "I think so too Naruto, they need you."

"I know, but..." He pat the raven on his shoulder. "I'll leave my clone to be with you two. I don't want anything happen to both of you, especially with Karin condition."
