Y/n was running as fast as she could, just moments before all of this she was gifted the serum, and now she had to save her boyfriend from turning into a crank.
Teresa was giving her directions from the intercoms placed around the city, Y/n's mind was all over the place. She had hope for Newt to live, but she also doubted it.
"Take a left and then keep going straight, that's wh--" Teresa suddenly gets cut off, and Y/n looks around confused...that's when she realizes that the city lost power, and only the emergency lights were on. But Y/n was not giving up, she couldn't lose him.
After following the directions, Y/n began to worry more...she hasn't heard or seen anything in the past five minutes. Until, she starts to hear someone scream her name, it was Thomas.
Y/n takes this as her motivation to keep going, to push through the tiredness slowly that's overcoming her.
She follows the voice and eventually reaches an open space, her heart stopped.
Thomas was on the ground, and on top of him was Newt...but he had turned, fully.
"Hurry Y/n, please! Why he's distracted!" Thomas yells keeping Newt busy, Y/n looks down at the syringe in her hand, she really hoped this would work.
Y/n runs to her crank boyfriend, tears in her eyes, and before he could turn around to attack, she sticks the syringe in his arm...and he passes out.
At The Safe Haven
"No Minho! You're doing it wrong!" Y/n says taking the spoon from him.
Currently, she was trying to teach him her signature drink from the glade...it was really just tea with cinnamon. "Oh shuck this!" Minho says throwing his hands in the air, Y/n laughs and looks around at all the people around her...but someone else caught her eye.
It was Newt, after what seemed like forever, he was back. Y/n immediately got up and ran to him, jumping into his arms when they reached each other. "I was so worried about you" she says cupping his face, and all Newt can do is smile at her beautiful face.
"I love you Y/n" Newt says,
"I love you too Newtie" she says back before sharing a long kiss with him.
After that day, there was peace, Newt and Y/n had no worries anymore, they were happy.
