"this is it. a noise complaint and cheap beer hosted by a bunch of teenagers." ricky said as he turned the ignition off. he gave a sarcastic smile to nini as she rolled her eyes with a chuckle.

"ricky! nini! hey guys! come join the party!" seb said as he walked past their car. they parked in a clearing with a bunch of other cars. it was facing the woods, which nini assumed was probably owned by EJs family. it had lights, fires, and a couple of tables set up with refreshments.

"basically the whole high school is here!" nini said.

"no just ours, i don't even recognize half of these people. your new boyfriend has quite the outreach." ricky said as he started off towards the party.

"hey! he's not my boyfriend!" nini said laughing as she followed him towards the music and loud voices. they entered into the crowd.

"hey guys! seb said you were here! here!" big red said, holding out two red solo cups. his head was bouncing to the music playing. "have fun!" he said, giving the cups to nini and ricky and turning away to go back to the mass of the party.

nini and ricky look at eachother and let out small laughs as they head into the woods with the rest of the teenagers. before they approached anyone, ricky turned to nini and raised the red solo cup up saying, "to being normal teenagers." with a smirk. nini smiles and raised her cup with him, "to being normal teenagers." they both took a swig of the cheap beer in the cups and turned up their nosed.

as they were laughing at themselves, EJ came up to them. "hey nini! i've been waiting for you!" he said, setting his hand on her arm and stepping close to her. he looked at ricky who's smile had been wiped clean off his face. "hey man." EJ said with significantly less excitement. ricky just gave him a toothless smile and raised his eyebrows.

"come on, i'll show y'all where the real party is at." he winked at nini and lead them through the crowd to a more secluded area of the woods where the trees were more spread apart, but there were still tons of people around.

EJ gave loose introductions and it was more than obvious that the majority or the people there were wasted out of their minds. EJ took nini and they sat down on a log around the campfire. there wasn't any room, so ricky went and sat on the other side of the fire. quickly after he sat down, a girl came and sat by him.

her name was sarah, nini knew that she went to school in the next town over. she radiated the stench of cheap beer and was all over ricky, and didn't waste anytime getting started flirting. nini rolled her eyes and diverted her attention back to EJ.

when she looked back at EJ, he was looking at her lips and slowly leaning in. nini panicked. what was she going to do? he's EJ Caswell, every girl wants to kiss him, but this didn't feel right. maybe he was trying to be spontaneous? just before their lips connected, nini set her hands in his shoulders, pushing him back gently.

"do you hear that?" nini asked. "what?" EJ said, confused about what was happening. there was an approaching sound that kept getting louder. "it sounds like music." EJ rolled his eyes, think it was a dumb attempt for her to curve his kiss. "yeah, it's a party. there's gonna be music. look nini-" just before he could finish his sentence, the music got a whole lot louder, and two bright lights came from behind the low shrubs.

by the time nini realized what was happening, it was too late. the last thing she saw was a silver truck that was blasting music and had extremely bright headlights coming straight at them. the truck that drove right though the party filled with teens. then, everything went dark.
