Above is the image of Eli, before the Games.
'Well well, look what we have here!' Eli gushed, her voice playful and maniac voice. Madeline cried out in fear. I hear her stumble back, the crash of impact on the Earth and a small sob from Madeline in her croaked, thirsty voice. I dare not turn around. She had fallen over in an attempt to escape. Little did she know, there was no escape. I close my eyes tight, but force them open to look directly at the girl. On the tall hill, her legs stabled her as she crouched, hands in front, clasping a long sowrd. She was almost in a frog-like position. Eli licked her lips and tilted her head to the side, her blonde and sweat drenched hair falling along with it.
'A sweet alliacne- what a shame that all has to come to an end.' She giggled, her eyes flashing bright. I realised I was trembling, my legs going weak. I was unarmed, unable to attack the crazy sword-wielding girl before us. A sharp breath escapes me, making Eli laugh. She threw back her hair and laughed up towards the reddish, setting sun. A red sun? Of course- for drama. The GameMakers and audience would love this.'You scared, Abigail? That you are gonna die? Hmph,' she humphs, a looks of concentration crossing her face. What game was she playing at? 'Which to kill off first?'
I was taking quick, short breaths, fear controlling my subtle movements. My eyes darted towards her hands, which were bringing the sword higher and higher into the air. No. Strands of hair covered her face, but her bright red lips, tanned freckles and devilish eyes were still visible. Her legs extended, rose out of it's crouch and into a tall stance, her thin and starved legs somehow keeping her up. She rose before us, on the hill, a dark silhouette in front of a gleaming crimson backdrop. An Angel of Death. The sun was engulfing us is deep red, no signs of peace. Eli threw back her head and roared again, a sickly and evil roar. Ending the roar of joy, she looked towards me. Her eyes glinted and smile widened. Her shadow covered arm raised the sword, her balanced legs about to jump. This was it.
'AGGGHHHHHH!' The sound was inhumane. Not like her laugher, but a cross between pain and delight. Her figure came falling towards me before I could take action. I was immobalized. But Madeline wasn't.
'EGHHH!' I shoot my head to the left to see a crouching figure, Madeline, holding her long silver spear with two hands, blocking Eli's deadly blade. Yet Eli's leg had already kicked me, straight on my head. It was buzzing and throbbing like mad. I clasped my hands over my ears to stop the pain and scratching sounds of metal, and scream. I screamed like there was no tomorrow- for there would not be one. I scramed like that would solve everything- yet it wouldn't. I screamed as if it were the only thing yet mattered- yet so much was at stake.
'Prepare to die, you filth!' I hear determined cries from Madeline, in front of me, pulling back her spear and thrusting it towards her. Eli jumps backwards, dodging it, panicked. The screeching of metal is unbearable, agonizing. My trembling knees collapse and I fall onto the side, banging my dizzy head onto the damp Earth. Tears fill my vision, the
edges fading to black. The two tributes battling were now just smudges against a red backdrop, battling their best. Madeline stepped back and shoved her sharpened spear towards the girl, hitting her shoulder. Cries of agony came from Eli. Ugh!! The sound was hurting my head, which I realised was bleeding. I could taste the blood. Madeline spun the spear around her head and knocked the side of Eli's head, making her lose balance. Eli growled and stood up, even more angry. Two slashes came from Eli's sword, blood coming from her enemy with each swipe to her leg. Madeline screeched, and stumbled back against a tree. Eli used this moment and went charging towards her, towards the tree 3 meters away from my limp, half dead body. No. I extended my bruised, shaking arm and clawed the grass before me, trying to crawl towards Eli, but with no sucess. I was losing conciousness, my head fuzzy, everything slowly fading. My head falls to the floor, exhausted and injured. I saw Eli raising her sword, her face gleaming with excitement, cast in the bloody red shadows.
'No,' I croaked, my voice hoarse. 'NO!' I scream once again, trying to stop the mad woman from attacking Madeline. But it was too late.
Eli drew back her arm, anticipating the moment, then shoved it forwards, the sword blade gleaming.
Crr-unch.
Tweeeak.
Snn-ap.
The last thing I hear before falling unconcious-
A cannon firing.
