Chaos broke out. Yet peace was later held.
The Capitol was outraged, many audiences protesting. That very Games changed peoples views. Some campaigns were made, and many YouTube videos went up about the topic. I could say that I created a storm. But as you know, the Capitol was able to cover this. How they convinced such a large population eith such a lame trick I will never know, but I can only watch in awe as it progresses. President Snow was distraught and mad. If I were alive, after the Tour I would be dead. The cover story was up in a week after the Games, after "I recovered in the hospital". They said that I was traumatised and wounded myself, yet I didn't die and the cannon was an accident. They eventually brought a young girl, who with so much make up and surgery was turned into an exact replica of me, and she did the interviews and train tour, before returning to the Capitol.Yet the Districts could tell. Opal could tell. Mercilli could tell. My make up artists could tell. But the rest of the world did not. Opal fought in courts behind closed doors for my winnings, and eventually received them. She later took a train to District 4 and gave the winnings to the children, who also gained rights to a house in the Victors Village. A man who was supposedly Madeline's uncle looked after them, and Opal grew attracted to them. After only a week there, Opal retreated to living in four, as a fisherwoman, looking after these children and protecting them with Franco Trout.
Madeline and my symbol, it adapted into the three finger pose- One finger added to symbolise how although we were meant to kill eachother, we combined and stuck together. These now symbolise the Districts. This Games we were so close to freedom, so close to victory, yet the opportunity was wasted. No matter how many riots within the Capitol and Districts, order was kept. It wouldn't be until another 50 years when an Uprising took place and began its rein.
But what of I, now a dead Tribute in these monstrous Games? After I died, I couldn't explain what happened. The world moulded into a different one, more beautiful, more majestinc, more loving and full of light. My vision wrapped, and my bloody, painful, oozing and ruined body ceased to exist. In a surge I left, not human, not ghost, not alive or dead Just me. Wamth, love and light, these three things, were with me. And I wasn't alone. You could only imaging what I saw there, reunited with everyone. Joy, happiness and peace filled the air. Polite cheers floated towards me, still in a haze. That was when we met, all of us, all of my loved ones passed, present and in my embrace. I have not concept of time, yet I can see all unfold in the present and future. I can rest here, free of everything, troubles and fear.
I am in peace. Waiting for the war to end, calm on Earth to be restored. I don't know where I am, or what I am, but I await others to join me in this bliss.
The Games were horrific and forceful, gruesome and full of gore, yet I can proudly say that I, no matter how forced, broke the rules and made a mark in the history of Panem. We both did. And we can only hope that in the next years, decades, centuries, others will be too.
One last thing...
Thank you. For all that you have done, those living and passed. Break away from the rules, don't play the Game.
Thank you.
