Willows pov

I wake up and it's no surprise that Tyler isn't there. He must've left when I fell asleep.

I go and look for some clothing to put on for the day. All the Capital's clothing is too bright and flashy for me. I find a simple black dress with some pink birds, that are here and there.

Then I go and eat breakfast. To my surprise. Everyone's already there.
"Mornin', sweetheart. " Haymitch said.

"Good morning," I say back. The only seat open is the one next to Tyler So I sit in it and serve myself. On my plate I served: Scrabbled eggs, Turkey Bacon, French toast, two orange slices, and strawberry yogurt. And got a cup of hot chocolate.

"I guess you're hungry," Tyler says jokingly.

"Shut up," I say back.
"So after breakfast the four of you have a couple of hours to yourselves. You can do whatever you want." Haymitch said.

"Okay." I said and continued on saying, "Dad can I paint with you?" Since I can't bake and I won't sing in front of Tyler, or anyone for that matter, and I can't hurt either.
"Of course, I guess if you want." "Yes!"

After breakfast

I go to the painting room with my dad. He starts painting, what looks like a waterfall. I start to paint a sunset in the woods. I started to sing, 'Deep in the Meadow', a song my mom taught me.

"Deep in the meadow, under the willow.
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow.
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes.
And when again they open, the sun will rise.

Here it's safe, here it's warm.
Here the daisies guard you against every harm.
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true.
Here is the place where I love you.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away.
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray.
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay.
And when again it's morning, they'll wash away.

Here it's safe and where it's warm.
And here the daisies guard you against every harm.
And here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true.
Here is the place where I love you."

"That was beautiful."I turn around and notice everybody is looking at me. Except for Tyler, thank God.

"Willow your a wonderful singer, and painter. I mean look at that sunset in the woods! It's amazing!" Effie said.

To be honest I thought they wouldn't care I guess they do. "Thanks but no. Ew, I'm really not a good singer. But if you think I really do have talents, it's thanks to my parents. The singing I got it from my mom and the painting from my dad."

"Well, we must be going. Off to lunch now," says Effie. We clean everything up and head for lunch. I take my painting and give it to Effie.

"Here, I want to give this to you. " I said.
"Oh darling, It's wonderful but I couldn't take this from you." She says.
" No, please, I want to give this to you. " I insist.
"Well, what for?"

"For helping my parents And me get through all this. For making our lives a bit more interesting. And for being a good friend." I say.

"Oh Willow, thank you! You have such a way with words. Just like your father." She said a little depressed.

After lunch, we are rushed downstairs. We were supposed to meet our prep teams but, of course, my parents already knew theirs. Technically only I and Tyler have to meet ours for the first time.
