Dream

Prologue

A/N: I am still a beginner in writing stories. Also, I apologise in advance for the grammatical error in the story as English isn't my first language. Feel free to comment to give suggestions for the story or let me know about the grammatical error. Enjoy :)

 Year 2009

"Mom! Dad! I'm accepted at CUBE!" Sungjae shouts happily.

"Son, are you sure you want to be a singer? There'll be more people who know about you." Irene, Sungjae's mom worries about her son after she finds out that her son passed CUBE's audition.

"I like singing so much, mom. I want to comfort them with my voice. I don't know what else I should do as well. You know that I don't like any subjects at school. No matter how hard I study them, I still get bad grades," Sungjae answers.

"But South Korea is far from here. I can't let you live alone there. Who will wake you up from those bad dreams? Also, the more people who know you, the more people will get you into their dreams," Irene answers.

"It's okay, mom. We only sleep for 8 hours a day and stay awake for the other 16 hours. Those 8 hours of dreams shouldn't be stopping me from achieving my real dream," Sungjae replies.

Sungjae has a unique ability where he'll be conscious in several other people's dreams every time he's sleeping. He can enter up to 5 dreams a night all are random. moving from one dream to another. It can be good or bad dreams. As a result, there are times when he runs and screams in his nightmares, just like when people play VR on his bed. Irene often wakes him up when he looks like having a bad dream.

"Son, but still, idol's life is more tiring, then there will be more people who watch your life. You might get into strangers' dreams, and your privacy might be invaded as well. Are you sure you can handle that?"

"Don't worry mom. Your son is a strong man. Those dreams should not stop me from enjoying my life." Sungjae says confidently. He can't wait to make others happy with his singing ability. He can't wait to comfort people with his voice.

"I agree with you, son. But, I heard idol's life is difficult to begin with. Your sleeping condition will just make it harder for you." Bogum, Sungjae's dad finally speaks up.

"It's okay mom, dad. Trust me. This is what I want and I'll bear the consequences."

"Aigoo my son has grown up well.. I'll let you be a singer when you have your dad's approval," she says.

"Dad? Let me go to Korea, please?" Sungjae plead with aegyo.

"Fine. If that's what you want. Promise me that you will take care of yourself there." Bogum answers.

"Gomawoyo, appa. I promise I'll do my best there." Sungjae says.

"Tell me when it's hard, okay?" Irene asks and Sungjae answers it with an excited nod.

3 years later, an article is released...

"CUBE Entertainment Announces Name of a New Boy Group: VISION"

I change the group name to VISION because BTOB is meant for the 7 members. The members are Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Changsub, Sungjae and Ilhoon. All songs that are sung by VISION here will be BTOB songs.
