*dream*
Joy sits again on the side of the breakwater on St. Kilda beach. The same place where she met Sungjae, listening to 'It's Okay'. The sun is shining, but it's not hot as the cool wind blows. Joy closes her eyes to feel the cool breeze, the smell of the sea and the song. It's just perfect. She wants to stay in this moment for a while.
As the song has ended, she presses rewind and starts to sing along while staring at the sea. Without her realisation, Sungjae comes and stands behind her quietly. He finally gets to hear Joy sings as she refused to sing last time. He's stunned by Joy's beautiful singing voice, but the moment Joy raps, he chuckles. Her rap is funny as she is being too passionate to say all the lyrics that she misses the beat. When the song is done, Sungjae squats behind Joy and taps her shoulder.
"Annyeong, Joy. Long time no see." Sungjae greets Joy as Joy turns her head.
Joy's eyes widen. "Sungjae! Since when did you here?"
"Long enough to hear your sing and rap."
"It's bad, isn't it?" Joy asks shyly.
"Aniya. It's good. You have a good singing voice, for real, but your rap.. yeah.. I think you know it yourself." Sungjae says while scrubbing the back of his neck, giving honest feedback.
Joy pouts. "It's too fast," Joy reasons.
"You'll be able to do it with practices." Sungjae encourages with a smile. He sits beside Joy.
"Yeah, I think so. Can you do it?"
"Of course, I can." Sungjae then does Ilhoon' rap and Joy watch him in amazement. "I did well, didn't I?"
Joy nods and out two thumbs up, making Sungjae smile. "Jjang!"
"Any other request?"
"Hmmm." Joy thinks while looking at the sea and Sungjae copying her, facing the sea. After some time, Joy finally shakes her head. "But I have a question.."
"Ask me."
"Your dream, how is it now? Is it still bad?" Joy asks with doubt.
"It gets better, thanks to you."
"Really?! Woah, chukhahae (congrats). You finally get to manage it."
"Exactly. Never thought there's a way out. Thanks for giving the advice last time," Sungjae replies.
"So you really never have bad dreams again?"
"Not never. I still get them sometimes. But, at least, I don't feel haunted and dragged anymore. That's good enough for me."
"That's great then! Only the flower road left for you now."
"I hope so." Sungjae agrees. "Let me treat you again next time."
"You don't need to," Joy refuses. "I'm happy to just see you're getting better because you deserve that after all of your hard work."
"I hope you can be happy as much as me because you deserve that too," Sungjae says with sincerity.
"Woo, that's really good to hear. Thanks for saying that," Joy says, but her eyes stare into. She feels touched when she heard it. It feels good to know that someone hopes she's happy when she often struggles with her own life.
"Joy-ah, since I've felt better, is it okay if I ask you to stop sending the messages to me? You said to me before that you'll stop when I get better. Don't you think now is the right time? I don't feel comfortable to keep receiving things from you, while I never return your support," Sungjae requests.
