SHIPRA

Its been enough, lately. The turmoil, the disaster, the danger. Its been weeks now that I haven't stepped out of home. I cant, out of fear and out of compulsion.

I dont want to repeat what happened with me 5 years Ago just by not listening to Bhaiyya, again. A majority of what is happening now wouldn't have happened had I listened to him that day.

But I dont want to repent my past anymore. Its enough. Im done with this. Now, I just have to finish this off.

Bhaiyya and Neil are engrossed in fighting that Ram so much that they haven't looked at the other aspect of this battle. They are looking only at the physical prowess, not at what the mind games they are playing with us. But I am, and I have even found a solution to this.

From personal experiences, Ive learnt that that the only thing that can only defeat the mind is speed. The faster the thought, the more effective it is. And thats why I went to the man I found to be the most apt to help me in this - Karan.

He's elder to me, but somehow I never got into the habit of called him Bhaiyya. Its either Bhai' or nothing. Maybe because Raghavan Bhaiyya kept all of us subdued at the same level, and we all thought of us as slaves of the same kin and him as the master.

Karan had been out for a trip but he came back recently. Before meeting him, I had to calm my temper, for I knew that he and I were of the same mindset; if we see fire we dont shy away from adding fuel to it.

I hadn't gone to receive him when he arrived at the island yesterday, but I met him later that day. I must say, the first sight of him made my blood boil.

Karan sat on his magnanimous velvet couch with his leg on the table opposite to it. On his right hand side was a table full of all kinds his favourite spirits and to the left was a basket full of foods, god knows what was in them.

His eyes were closed with his head towards the ceiling. He took a sip and smiled, like an idiot.

"..Karan..Hi.." I said with my best possible politeness.

Karan didnt open his eyes. He went on drinking and just said,

"Shipra. Hi."

I lost it then. You see, he very well knows that I dont like to be treated that way. Thats the difference between him and Bhaiyya. Atleast, Bhaiyya acknowledges my presence.

I went ahead and said,

"The world outside is burning, and you are sitting here getting drunk."

Karan smirked.

"Where, I dont see any fire?!"

I curled my fist but controlled myself.

"How will you, you dont stay here. And plus, you're too blind to see it."

And just like me, Karan Bhai threw the glass away and put his feet down, the thump of the boots sounding louder than the glass breaking.

"Im not like you, okay?! I choose to remain out of this! Shipra, you and Bhaiyya must understand that there is much more to the world than revenge and fighting and blood." His words were slurred but he was in his senses.
