Kayla's p.o.v
"What's wrong Kayla, you smell like chocolate. Makes me want to lick you", he said his hot breath fanning my neck. My pulse quickened and my heart raced. I knew who it was without turning back, I'd recognise his voice anywhere. I took in deep breaths before turning back to look at the person. He stood only a few inches away from me. He looked down at me and our eyes met. His eyes held excitement and I didn't try to hide the irritation I felt.
"What do you want Cory?", I asked and he shrugged.
"In line to buy myself a burger", he said raising a brow at me.
"Well can you give me some space you're like standing really close and its uncomfortable", I said and he furrowed his brows.
"From my observations you're the one standing close to me", he said with a smile. I looked forward and realised he was right, the line had moved forward and there was enough space for me to move. I closed the gap in front of me and didn't look back but I still felt his presence behind me.
It got to my turn after a couple of minutes and I hoped they had not started inside, even if they had I wouldn't be missing much, just the national anthem and other boring briefings before it officially started.
I got two burgers and a hotdog and sodas for each of us.
I stepped out of the line after receiving change. I didn't look back at him as I walked away to get the cotton candy. After a couple of minutes I walked back into the stadium and pushed my way through the crowd. I sat down with a loud thud. I don't know how I'd managed to carry all I bought by myself.
Soon enough the event started with the male high jump first. Different schools cheered their athletes as they all made their jumps. The higher the bar was raised the more intense everyone got. Our schools athlete had come first the last time, our school had always seen sports as very important aspect of life and trained students in various sports so no surprise when we always came back with trophies and medals.
The jump had continued until four athletes were left, one of which was our athlete. The tension was clear on his face and we continued to cheer him on till they were just three left. Finally down to two athletes, one ours and the other some other school whose name I couldn't recall. Last jump to first position and the crowd grew nervous but still continued to cheer. He drove his hand through his hair as he stood at the start of the run way before taking off with an average speed, he slowed down and jumped as he approached the bar. The crowd gasped before falling into silence as he fell before even making it across the bar. He clutched his right foot and continued to roll on the floor. The medical team rushed to him and seconds later a stretcher was rolled in and he was taken away."Well.. We must continue, if he gets the jump, he gets gold", one of the officials announced. And of course he did get the jump. The bleachers filled with noise from our school at how unfair that was and of course the other school cheered.
I turned at the sound of a voice."Excuse me please, excuse me", he said as he maneuvered his way through the people sitting on our row in the bleachers. He stopped at the empty sit besides me.
"Is this seat taken?", Cory asked and I ignored him before placing my bag on the seat.
"No it isn't", Arya said looking at him her eyes widening slightly. "Stop being rude Kayla. Especially to a person this hot", she added whispering the last part of the sentence.
"If you ain't gon' sit down then you might as well get the fuck off my front. You're interrupting my view", some grumpy guy at the back said. Cory raised a brow at me and Arya just took my bag off placing it on my legs and I scowled at her.
"Hi.. I'm Arya and the rude head here is Kayla", she said stretching her hand to Cory and he took her hand gladly for a handshake.
"Don't speak to him Arya he's a nut case", I said breaking off their 'introduction'.
