The world is divided into two kinds of people: those who have tattoos, and those who are afraid of people with tattoos. ~Author Unknown

"Thanks for the show." Dimitri said coldly and grabbed my wrist, pulling me away.
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow!" I called over my shoulder and waved. Dimitri steered us between two buildings and up a staircase. It was steep and tucked away behind bark that stuck out. Dimitri walked ahead, tugging me along.
"Where..."
"Shush"
"But..."
"Quiet"
'Ass'
Being stupid, I looked down. We had been walking longer I thought, the stairs taking us higher. The third level was now below us, we were going into the tree tops. My heart was racing, I didn't like heights. Yesterdays aderaline had long gone and my fears were back.
"Okay we're here."
Dimitri pulled me through the last branches. The leaves smacked and pulled at the hoodie.I was beginning to get angry. He dragged me away from a friend, made me walk who knows how may stories above the city and now I'm being hit with branches.
"Dimitri, where the hell are...you..."He pulled me through the last of the limbs and I stopped, mouth open wide. We were standing on a platform that jutted out of the trees. The sight was breath-taking. The sun was beginning to set, the colors melded into shades of pink and orange, with hints of purple.
"I didn't bring you here for the view." my head snapped around to look at Dimitri.
"Then what actually did you bring me up here for?" I questioned
"Practice. Since I'm the only one in the city with a Tattoo similar to yours, I'm your best shot at learning." He smirked
"You mean...I'm...me...flying?" My face must have been a sight because Dimitri started laughing.
"Stop laughing."
"Sorry. Anyway, no today we're not flying. We're just going to work on your Tattoo merging skills since it took forever yesterday for them to merge again."
"Okay good." I breathed a sigh of relief
"Hoodie off." I pulled the hoodie up but it was way to big and I became wrapped up in it.
"Stop moving." The boards in front of me creaked and the hoodie was pulled away. It was freezing. "Now sit down." Dimitri turned away and tossed the hoodie down. I watched him take a few steps away and sit, with his back to me. I sat and waited.
"Okay let's start." Dimitri said after a few moments. He pulled his shirt over his head, I stared at his back. His Tattoo covered his entire back, in varying shades of black and gray. Where as my wings were feathers like a bird, his were leathery like a bats.
"Watch me first and we'll move on to yours." And I watched him pull his Tattoo for over half an hour. When the sun finally hit the tree line and started to disappear, Dimitri lit lantern's that sat along the railing. The night was proving to be colder than the daytime.
"Dimitri how much longer?" I asked watching him walked past a space in the railing.
"Until you can pull your Tattoo from your skin with little problem." He sat down behind me and then scooted off to my left.
"Begin."
It was late, the moon was high and it had began snowing. The small snowflakes drifting between what few leaves were above us.
