Laylah's POV
*The Royal Tour, Part Two: Day Four*
Just as Brooklyn was about to walk away from Darcy, Audrey took a step forward, prompting them both to turn and face her,
"On second thought," She started, "I would like to participate in this training session instead. Against General Myers."
My eyes widened in shock and Brooklyn raised an eyebrow at her, "As a General and with you being a Queen, that would be highly inappropriate."
Audrey crossed her arms, "So you are willingly choosing to disobey me?"
Brooklyn turned to face Clara before then turning to face me, seeming to search for some form of answer. I shrugged my shoulders because I genuinely had no idea what to tell her. I knew a part of her wanted to fight Audrey but another part -a strong part- also didn't want to because of her title. She also didn't want it to look like she was disrespecting Audrey by not accepting the fight. She was clearly at a crossroads.
Brooklyn stood still for a few seconds in silence before she bowed to Audrey, "Of course not. I would be honoured to fight you, your majesty."
Audrey gave her a small smile, "Perfect. Darcy, you can partner with Nika in the meantime as I'm sure Laylah will want to see this."
Both Darcy and Nika bowed in response before walking off to join everyone else. Audrey then removed her crown from her head and ran a hand through her hair before walking over to Clara and handing the crown to her.
I looked over at Brooklyn to try and gage what she was thinking. She eyed up Audrey for a while, as if to suss out her opponent but I could only imagine how difficult that was. Audrey didn't seem like the fighting type, that much was clear but I knew better than to judge a book by it's cover. She definitely had something up her sleeve, otherwise she wouldn't have wanted to fight in the first place. What that something was though, I guess we were about to find out.
Audrey came back to stand opposite Brooklyn and they both bowed to each other out of courtesy. No specific rules were set but I'm sure both of them knew where to draw the line.
Brooklyn narrowed her eyes slightly at Audrey. Neither of them wanted to make the first move and rightly so. When it came to any fight, you never wanted to be the one to make the first move so it wasn't surprising that they both stood still for a while,
"You're a level ninety-five mage right?" Audrey spoke, breaking the silence. Well, I say silence but we could hear the noise of weapons clashing from the fighters behind us. There wasn't much talking though.
Brooklyn gave a single nod in reply, "Correct."
"You probably heavily rely on your magic."
"I don't see how that's relevant. I am a mage and we rely on our magic. Whether or not we heavily rely on it, is for another time."
Audrey gave her a small smile, "As you wish."
Audrey then decided she was going to be the one to make the first move. She ran forward and in a split second, she had Brooklyn by her throat. My eyes widened in shock slightly at what I just witnessed. I barely even saw Audrey make her way over to Brooklyn, it just happened.
Brooklyn grabbed Audrey's wrist and kicked her in the stomach before raising her hand up and shooting a spell towards her. It was a white ball of light but I wasn't sure what spell it was. I hadn't read enough on the spells within the mage world to distinguish them all. However, the spell was enough for Audrey to dodge it.
Audrey turned to face Clara and brought her hand out. Clara grabbed one of the swords and threw it towards Audrey who swiftly grabbed it in her hand. Brooklyn merely rolled out her shoulders and raised an eyebrow over at Audrey,
