No pov

Jack sighed once again, making Danny even more anxious. "Who's Lloyd?" he said.
"He's...he was," Jack paused. "Remember that bar? At the hotel?"
Danny's confused expressions seemed like they'd never leave his face.

"...Yes?"

Jack found it hard to say it out loud, but he managed to spit it out.
"Remember how I...drank...there?"
"Yeah," Danny said. "The ghost poison."

Jack chuckled. "Is that what your mother told you?"
"Yeah," Danny said, giggling a bit.
"How did..." Danny paused like his father did before. "How did you manage to get a drink? Mom said that all the supplies was gone-"

"That's where Lloyd came in," Jack said, looking down in embarrassment.
Danny noticed this, so he placed his hand on his fathers shoulder, attempting to give him some sort of comfort.
Jack looked at Danny, tears in his eyes.
"It broke me seeing you going through that, Doc."

Danny immediately knew what he was talking about, his tears forming again.
They hugged each other tightly, never wanting to let go.

"Ya'know," Jack said, pulling away slowly. "I thought you'd never want to see me again. Which I wouldn't blame you, but I was...scared."
Danny never got to see this side of his father.
The only side he got to know was his alcoholic, bad temper, and abusive side.
But this, this was the real him.

"Dad," Danny said.
"Yes?"
"What did Lloyd...what did he do?"

Jack's face full of tears only grew stronger, more tears coming.
"Danny...you like boys, is that right?"

Danny was caught off guard by that question. It was completely off topic, and the topic itself already made him nervous enough.
He wasn't ready.

"Ew!" Danny said, standing up quickly, locking eye contact with his father.
"No! Boys are to be with girls and girls are to be with boys! That's it!" His face was flushed.
Jack looked as if his heart just broke right in his chest, the tears never leaving.
"Right," Jack said. "I should...I should go, Doc-"

"Wait!" Danny attempted to grab is arm, but his father already disappeared.
"W-wait..." he mumbled brokenly, standing alone in his room.

He just wasn't ready.
