Danny's pov

After the hangout at the park, I ran straight home!
I needed to tell my father! He was going to be the first to know.
My mother...I planned on telling her sometime...later.
But at the moment, it was about my father.

I opened the front door quickly, gave my mom a fast kiss on the cheek, and ran to my room shouting, "love you goodnight!"
I practically threw myself on to the edge of my bed. "Dad?" I said, trying to be quiet so my mom wouldn't hear.
I looked around like I did the first time I was waiting for him, eager to tell him everything.
Then again, he was probably watching, I thought to myself.
Well, detail is key I suppose.
"Dad? Please, I'm sorry about earlier."

Nothing.

I sighed. "Look...this is really hard for me to say..."
For some reason, tears were forming in my eyes, making everything seem blurry.
"But...I do like...b-boys, d-dad."

Nothing.

"I was just...scared."

It was all silence, and it made my heart sink to my stomach, breaking...breaking...

"I know, Doc."

A familiar voice spoke.
I turned to my left, my father sitting beside me, gazing off in the distance.
I smiled a bit.
"If you knew," I began. "Then why did you get so upset when I...said all those homophobic things?"
He was silent, like his voice box was pulled out of him.

"Dad, I'm here, okay? I love you, you know that."
I put my hand on his knee, earning a slight smile from him as he looked back at me.
"I'm proud of you," he said.
"W-why?"
"You had your first kiss today, huh?" He grinned wide.
"Oh my gosh you are such a stalker!" I laughed as my face turned tomato red. I playfully threw a pillow at him, and we had a mini pillow fight that ended with us laying in my bed beside each other, staring at the ceiling.

We didn't even talk, we just stared.
I really didn't imagine myself having this much fun with...him.
The man that tried to kill me.
I thought he was a monster...until...

"Lloyd was a bartender," he said suddenly.
I remained laying down. "Your friend? Oh, did he give you the drink?"
"Well, yes, but-"
"Wait," I said, realizing something that I should've thought of before!
"He was a ghost, wasn't he?"

Right after I said that, I could hear quiet sniffles coming from my father.
"...Dad?"
"Me and him...we were good friends. But he...he used me."

I gave a confused look. "How so?"

Jack took a deep breath.
"Well...after a few day's of knowing him at the hotel...I confessed."
"Confessed?"
"I loved him, Doc."

I turned my face towards him, my reaction full of shock and wonder.
"You like...boys...too?"
"Well, yes. But I still like women."
I gave an even more shocked face.
"You can like both?"
"I think so...me and your mother both went through it so-"
He stopped himself, realizing that he just exposed his wife to her son.
"Danny," he said in a bit of a panicky tone. "Don't tell your mother I-"
"Well, that makes sense!" I said, making my father show the confused expression this time.
"It...what?"
"It makes sense!" I repeated. "I think she was going to tell me earlier, but then decided it would be best for you to tell me."
Jack sighed in relief.

"Hey!" I nearly shouted. "Don't get distracted! Tell me about Lloyd."
