Danny's pov
They let me use the phone from the front desk. It was the closest one to me and I needed to tell my mom
as soon as possible.
Ring...
Ring...
"Come on," I mumbled, tapping my fingers on the desk anxiously.
...
"Danny?!"
"Mom! I-"
"Danny where have you been? Christ, I nearly called the cops!"
I sighed. "Mom, I'm so sorry, okay? I am. I'm at the hospital, and-"
"You're where?!"
"Mom just listen!"
She finally quieted down.
I took a deep breath. "He hurt me...mom. Lloyd."
No pov
Wendy had heard those exact words before.
"He hurt me...Wendy. Lloyd."
Wendy closed her eyes, tears falling down her cheeks. "I'm on my way, okay Doc?"
"Okay."
There was one thing that Wendy just couldn't do. No matter how much she wanted to.
She wanted to heal her husband.
It wasn't the hotel that made him insane, it was just a small part of it.
That damn bartender, Lloyd.
When he confessed his feelings about him to her, she felt broken.
But not for herself, for him.
Because she knew it was impossible for them to be together.
But Jack was willing to try anything.
One of those things being ending his family.
It was still a heart breaking experience. She still loved him, but she knew what love looks like in somebody's eyes. And Jack, he fell hard.
So she wanted to take this opportunity to heal her son, Danny.
Wendy's pov
I drove over to the hospital immediately, my heart beating faster the closer I got to it.
I wasn't ready to see my son looking like this.
When I entered, Danny nearly jumped out of the chair he was sitting in. He cried out in pain, forgetting he was, well, in it.
I gasped when I saw him.
If I had saw what he looked like before the doctor cleaned him up, I'm sure I would've fainted.
"Danny," I said, my voice cracking. I ran to him, hugging him tightly. Not too tight, though. I didn't want to hurt him more.
"Ouch!" He cried out.
"Sorry!" I said.
Well, I hurt him anyway, I thought.
I could feel my eyes watering.
"Ms. Torrance," the doctor approached me. "I'd be happy to take you and your son to another room and explain all the details of his injuries."
"Okay," I said, taking Danny's hand.
I expected him to get tired of me holding his hand. Ever since he was a kid I would.
But he never grew out of it.
Not yet, anyways.
