I guess it's Fate

Chapter 5

Elizabeth POV
Yesterday after Jack walked me home from school he asked me out on a date. Of course, I said yes. I know we are supposed to be just friends but I couldn't help but say yes. It doesn't bother me that he asked me out, I was waiting for the day he would and now that he has I'm feeling so many emotions. I don't know where we are going, the only information I got was to dress casual so I am wearing jeans, a tank top and my Nike converse. I let my wavy blonde hair out of its tied up state and brush it out. I decide to leave my hair down and wear some small hoop earrings to spice up my outfit a little but not too much so it doesn't break Jack's dress code.

At 6 pm there is a knock at the door which startled me but I immediately jump up from the couch knowing who it is. I open the door to see Jack standing there with a bouquet of red roses, dressed in a plain grey shirt and jeans with his Adidas converse. "Hi", Jack says with a smile. "Hi", I say back. "These are for you", he says giving me the flowers. "Thank you. Their beautiful", I say taking them from him. "Come inside while I put the roses in a vase", I tell Jack as I walk into my house. He nods and walks in closing the door behind him. My mum comes downstairs and greets Jack. She's met Jack already when he walked me home one time and she was home early so I introduced her to him. Once I put the roses in a vase with water I place them on the kitchen counter. "These are lovely roses. Did you want me to put them in your room, honey?", my mum asks me and I nod in response. "I'll be back at around 9 o'clock", I say to my mum so she doesn't bother me during my date asking when I'll be home. "That's fine. Have fun", she says to us and walks me and Jack to the door. We wave goodbye and she closes the front door. "So where are we going for our date?", I ask Jack. "Well, the other night I was driving home from soccer training and saw that there are these cool markets set up in the park. I thought we can walk around there and then go to a cafe to get something small to eat or drink. How does that sound?", Jack says. "Amazing", I reply. The markets aren't far from my house so Jack thought it would be a good idea to walk there.

The markets are lit up with fairy lights and so many people are here. They are set up all around the park and it looks amazing. Jack and I start to walk around and look at what each stall offers. I purchase a pair of dangle butterfly earrings and a nice blue scarf with white and gold patterns sewn on it, imported from the owners home country in Greece. After walking around and buying a few items, Jack leads me to the cafe he was telling me about during our walk to the markets. It's a small but cute cafe with a lovely set out and a good menu. We walk up to the register and order something small. "Strawberry milkshake?", Jack asks me and I nod. Jack greets the employee and tells her what we would like to order. Once we pay for our order, we sit down at a table which is against the large window and wait for the milkshakes to be served to us. "So how's the date so far?", Jack asks me after thanking the waitress for delivering our drinks. I take a sip of the milkshake and nod, "It's great. Thank you for taking me out tonight. I'm having a lot of fun", I say. "Thank you for coming with me", he says to me.

"I have never been on a date before", I say to Jack and his eyes widen.

"Really?".

"Yeah. A lot of guys have asked me out but they were all assholes and I didn't want to go out with an asshole".

"I have been on a few dates with some random girls that I was set up with by my friends and they all sucked because they were all sort of slutty and some kept trying to kiss me but I would push them away. I don't know why I kept going on dates with girls my friends set up, they are all fucking annoying".

"Well, you have made my first date fantastic so thank you".

"I'm glad you agreed to come. I know we are supposed to be just friends but I just couldn't help but ask you out on a date. Since I saw the markets, I knew that I wanted to take you there".

"The markets were amazing and I got some nice items", I say and smile at Jack. He is so sweet and generous, something I love about him.

Once we finish our milkshakes, Jack and I walk back to my house. At my door, he hugs me tight and kisses my lips sweetly. "I had the best time with you tonight", he whispers against my lips. "Me too", I whisper back leaning in the kiss him again. "I'll see you tomorrow, baby. Goodnight", he says. "Goodnight", I say and Jack turns to leave. I open my door and walk inside. I go up to my room and change into my pyjamas then sit on my bed. Once my head touches my pillow I instantly fall asleep. Tonight was great, Jack is the most amazing guy. I know we act like a couple but we aren't and that sounds stupid, I know. It was my decision because I'm not ready but he is so irresistible. I don't know what to do, it's complicated.
