Jack POV
School is a pain in my ass, that's all that is needed to be said to sum up my life. The workload is crazy, I am literally dying, buried in nonsense teachers call school work. The worst part about all this is that I haven't seen Elizabeth is a week. We have texted each other every day but it's not enough. Our conversations are short and dry because we always have a lot to complete and we don't have time to have a proper conversation.

On my way home, I walk past Liz's school and look around to see if I can see her but I don't. I miss her so much that my heart hurts. As I'm walking down my street I look over towards Elizabeth's house and see her opening her front door. My face instantly lights up and instead of going into my house, I walk across the road and knock on Liz's front door. She opens it and her eyes widen as she smiles. I'm about to greet her and explain why I'm at her front door but she pounces on me before I can say anything. She pulls me in for a deep kiss and sighs. I hold her close to me as we kiss passionately. After about a minute or two of kissing at her door, she pulls away with a smile. "I missed you so much and it's only been a week of not seeing each other", she says. "I missed you so much, baby. You clearly missed me more though, considering that kiss", I say with a grin and she pushes at my chest. "Shut up", she says to me and I pull her in for another kiss but this time it's gentle and tender. "Do you have time to spend time with me, today?", I ask her once I pull away from the kiss. "Yes, I do. I can finally breathe", she answers. "Come inside. I can make you a snack and we can talk", Liz tells me and I nod.

I sit down on the couch and Liz comes from the kitchen with a tray of snacks. She sits down next to me and I put my arm around her. She leans her head on my shoulder and says, "I missed spending quality time with you". I kiss her forehead and lay my chin on top of her head. She pulls away from me and I look at her confused. "What's wrong?", I ask. "We need to talk", she says. I look at her confused. "Yeah, sure", I say and take her hands in mine. "About...us", she says and I nod, trying to act like I'm not freaking out about what she is going to say. Does she not like me anymore or has she realised she wants to be with me? So many options and they are all fucking scaring me. Liz opens her mouth to speak but is interrupted by the front door opening to reveal her mum. "Hi kids", she says to us and I wave to her. "Hi mum", Liz says as her mum puts her bags on the rack at the door and walks over to kiss her daughter on the head. "How was your day?", she asks and Liz replies with "good". "Jack, I haven't seen you in a week which is surprising considering how much time you and Liz spend together. We are having mash potato and chicken for dinner, would you like to join us?", her mum asks me and I nod in response. Her mum walks upstairs and Liz says to me "I'm happy you're staying for dinner". I smile and turn to my phone to text my mum, telling her that I am having dinner with Liz and she replies with ok.

Dinner is going well and the food is so good. Liz's mum is a talented cook. "This dinner was delicious, Mrs Markle", I say to Liz's mum who smiles at me and thanks me for the compliment. "It was nice of you to join us for dinner, Jack", Mr Markle says to me and I nod. Usually, the boyfriend, well, in my case, the guy friend, is always supposed to be afraid of the father but Mr Markle and I get along well and have a lot in common. He was played football in high school and was one of the best players. "Thank you for having me, sir", I say.

Once our plates are clear from the dinner table, I thank Liz's parents for having me for dinner and kindly excuse myself because I have to go home as it is getting late. I proceed to the front door and walk out onto the front porch. I turn to Liz and place my hand on her cheek, stroking it with my thumb as she leans into my touch. "I'll see you soon, hopefully. Just text me when you're free from school", I say to Liz and she nods as I kiss her. "Goodnight, babe", I say and turn to walk home. "Goodnight", she says and waves to me as she closes the door.

I know Liz wants to talk to me about us but we have to wait until we have privacy so we can discuss the situation without any distraction. I don't want anything to get in the way of us, I want her to change her mind and allow us to date. It is almost like we are dating now with the kisses we share and the way we act together but something is stopping Liz from fully committing. It doesn't bother me that she is taking her time to decide but I do not want to be left in the dark forever, waiting for her to make up her mind. I want to be married one day and have a family and do I see Elizabeth as my wife? Yes. We are perfect for each other and I need her to see that.
