When Love Grows (4)
When I sleep anytime of the day, I would hardly get myself back to be asleep. I was up kahit madaling araw na, which is unusual. I should be in slumberous state right now, pero hindi. I stayed sleepless until the sun rose.
It was my rare start of morning by eating breakfast as well as eating breakfast with someone.
Lola wasn't expecting me to be awake early in the morning, naabutan ko kasi na medyo madilim pa pero she's already making a breakfast. I watched her cooked while I was in the dining table.
That's the time where she got to asked me about Mama and Papa, if how are they. I told her about my graduation, I intentionally missed to spoke about Mama and Papa not making it to my graduation.
I think it's better that way na hindi na malaman ni Lola.
After having a breakfast nagpunta na kami dito sa veranda. Lola was busy with cross-stitching.
Bigla ko tuloy naisip, does Lola feel lonely here? This place was quiet, but nonetheless, peaceful and calm. Kaya siguro...Lola doesn't want to move in with us, hindi ko siya masisisi dahil dito may peace of mind.
See what silence can do to me subconsciously. I was staring nothing in particular but I was taken by deep thoughts of what happened the previous days. I still do think 'bout it.
"Ate Prechut!" the sudden call of my name whom I know who it was has taken away my thoughts.
She was vigorously waving her hand habang ang kabilang kamay niya ay nakakapit kay Kuya Miguel. "Hello!" I waved my hand at her. "Morning." I said to her then looked at Kuya Miguel.
He is tall. Definitely a good looking moreno. Maya have the same skin tone with him. Maganda ang kuIay ng kutis nila. His big hand holding Maya's little hand was too cute. Ah, so they ride a motorcycle to go here.
This place was too isolated.
He was holding a sack of cement.
I was just watching them. Lola held Maya's right hand.
They were looking at me, " Precious, halika na Apo. Sumama ka't nang makita mo."
I was a bit hesitant at first pero agad akong tumayo at sumama sa kanila. I felt Maya held my hand.
So this was what Lola told me yesterday.
It was a one storey small room and still made of wood. Outside were heaped of pots in different sizes. Some were broken but some were not totally damaged pero madumi lang ang itsura. There were few plant boxes at sa gilid ay ang mga gardening materials.
We went inside. There were shelves where the pots were placed.
"La, why pottery business?" it could have been her cross-stitching work. She could sell those.
I could see Kuya Miguel looking at me in my peripheral vision. Well, not bad. "Mabuti nga at nandito ang Kuya Miguel mo," she said and patted Kuya Miguel's back.
