It was a bright morning.  The sky looked gray as if it were about to rain, but no clouds were seen.  Flora and Kate were playing around while Miles was giving Y/n a horse riding lesson.
"Head up!  Thighs against the horse.  Sit in the center of the saddle, you'll get better balance,"  He whipped the horse.  "Ride harder!  Put your thumb on top of your reigns and your pinkie on the bottom.  Don't let her get the bit!"
"Okay I'm not!"  Y/n yelled back trying to get the hang of it.
He whipped the horse another time.
"Reign her in hard!"  He commanded.
She pulled the reign back almost out of breath. He clicked his tongue towards the horse.
"Well done,"  He said pulling the reign back.
"You didn't have to keep whipping her..."  Y/n choked out.
"Yes I did.  You wanted to learn, that's how Quint taught me.  It's a strong animal.  If you don't exert power over it then... you'll never get in control,"  He smirked.  "You look good up there,"
She smiled looking down.
"Milesss, I'm bored.  Can we do something else now?"  Flora asked.
"What do you wanna do?"  He answered.
"Can we show Kate and Y/n the koi pond?"  Flora beamed full of excitement.
"That's Flora's favorite part of the garden, let's check it out."  Miles said.
Y/n nodded her head.  She envied Miles' relationship with Flora.  Her and Kate were close, sure.  There was just something different that Miles and Flora had.

-

Miles and Flora were riding on one horse while Kate and Y/n were riding another.  As Miles and Flora were ahead, Kate and Y/n were admiring the scenery.
"So.. you and Miles, huh?"  Kate chuckled.
"Me and Miles what..."  Y/n questioned in total oblivion.
"You two seem awfully close is all,"  Kate specified.
"I- what?"  Y/n said ignoring her question.
They both caught up to Miles and Flora.

y/n's pov

I heard mumbles from Miles and Flora as Kate and I got off the horse.
"It's so pretty,"  I said looking at the koi pond.
"Aah!  Miles!"  Flora shrieked.
"It's gotta fish!"  Miles shouted running towards a crow.
I ran behind him and Flora along with Kate behind me.
"STOP!"  Flora yelled.
"Get the hell off of her!"  Miles yelled as the crow flew away.
"Oh.. poor baby,"  Flora said in a melancholy tone.
Miles looked down at the fish and with hesitation stomped on it.
"Miles!"  Kate shouted.  "What are you doing?"
"Nothing should have to suffer,"  Miles plainly said.
"That was my favorite fish..."  Flora mumbled.
"Now you've seen the koi pond,"  Miles said walking back to the Mansion.

-

I was looking in one of the mirrors of the mansion when I saw Miles appear behind me.
"Miles?"  I said as he approached me.
He then slammed my head against the mirror and to my surprise it was just a nightmare.  It didn't seem like he was Miles though.  It was as if he were corrupted.  I decided to brush that thought out of my mind and try to fall back asleep.  I woke up to Flora's face in front of mine as she said she was just checking up on me.  I went to Kate's room and we both went in the living room after breakfast.
"Miles' effects arrived from his school this morning,"  Mrs. Grose stated as Kate and I entered the room.
As Kate was about to ask Mrs. Grose a question, Flora and Miles came running in the room.
"I'm gonna getcha," Miles said playfully.
"Guys it's very early, can you stop?" Kate said.
"Children! Can you listen to Kate? Listen to Kate, please," Mrs. Grose stated. "You need to take charge here Kate,"
"Bad dreams?" Miles asked looking at me.
Kate gave a look at Miles, as if she had the same nightmare.
"I have an idea! Since it's Saturday, why don't we go into millbrook and get a new koi?" Kate changed the subject. "Hm?"
Flora's facial expression quickly faded.
"Yeah," Miles smiled.
"I don't want to," Flora hesitated.
"Come on! It'll be fun," I added smiling.
Kate held her hand out for Flora indicating to come.
"You know that Flora doesn't leave the property," Mrs. Grose interrupted. "You don't have to go darling,"
Miles looked into a mirror.
"What if I ask my special friend, huh? Want me to try?" Miles insisted.
Flora shrugged.
"Will you keep me and Flora safe? You will?" Miles continued.
"And Kate and Y/n too?"  Flora asked.
"And Kate and Y/n too?" Miles repeated. "Really?"
Kate and I continued to look in the mirror and back at Miles.
"He says you have nothing to worry about," Miles confirmed.
Flora hugged Miles.
"Okay! So, let's get your coat," Kate said as she went with Flora to get her coat.
"Good job, Miles," I added.
"He also thinks your birthmark is sexy," Miles whispered in my ear.
I gulped as I felt chills down my spine.
The only birthmark I had was on my ass.  I shrugged it off.

-

We all sat in the car. The song cop car played in the background. Flora and I were in the back while Miles and Kate were in the front. Miles kept glaring at me in the rear view mirror which didn't help me get off my mind of what he said earlier.

I get mean when I'm nervous like a bad dog
I get mean when I'm nervous like a bad dog
I want to jump into blue water
And I miss riding horses, I miss running fast
I miss riding horses, I miss running fast
I was meant for running fast
I pretended you were mine, it made me calm, babe

"Please stop... I don't wanna go." Flora blurted.
I looked at Kate trying to tell her to stop.
"Oh no, honey we're almost at the gate. We'll be fine," Kate informed.
"I don't wanna go! Stop! I wanna get out," Flora yelled unbuckling her seatbelt and trying to open the car door.
"Hey what are you doing? Flora stay in your seat," Kate demanded.
"Stop the car," Miles said.
"Kate, just stop the car," I said.
"No, leave your seatbelt on! Sit down, Flora."
"MILES TELL HER TO STOP OR I'M GONNA DIE!" Flora shouted.
I held my arms around Flora to show her a bit of comfort.
"Stop the car!" Miles repeated.
"MILES I DON'T WANNA DIE!" Flora cried out.
"STOP THE CAR OR I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" Miles shouted with no hesitation.
Kate quickly stopped the car.
"I told you to stop!" Miles stated getting out of the car.
"You took it too far Kate," I said getting out of the car with Flora.

    "Hey! Guys! Jesus..." Kate mumbled.
As Kate unbuckled her seatbelt and was about to get out the car Miles slammed the car door shut.
"I know what you're afraid of. Keeping the lights on, won't keep you safe. And your sister? You should keep an eye on her. After all, she is important to you, right?" Miles warned.
