adams can be seen punching alexander back, but alex gets one more blow in and then bolts from the scene. adams is now stumbling to the phone to call the SRO and maria manages to slip out of the classroom to go after alexander.

she skims the hallway, groaning internally. he couldn't have gotten that far in the matter of a minute. she hears someone in the bathroom and doesn't even think twice about running in to find her friend.

"lex, why the FUCK did you do that!?" her voice echoes through the bathroom.

no one responds, so she looks under all the stalls to see who's in there. she apologizes profusely when she finds people who aren't alex, and finally she finds her idiot shoveling gummy bears in her mouth.

"can i have one?" maria asks, forgetting the whole reason she was with him.

"you wanna get high?"

"what the fuck!?" maria snatches the bag. "these are edibles?"

"why else would i be eating them while an SRO is looking for me?"

maria groans loudly, then stops when she hears footsteps come into the bathroom.

"i know you're in here, hamilton. come out before we open up each stall to come and get you ourselves!" they hear adams nasty voice.

"great." alex whispers.

alex pulls maria up so her feet aren't showing underneath the stall. she takes out her phone and texts peggy.

me: hey bbg, so alexander and i are sort of trapped in the d hall bathroom with adams and the sro standing on the outside of the stall if you could come get us that would be great

peggy🌻💛: tf

"peggy is on her way, for now don't say a fucking word." maria whisper-shouts.

"why are you talking?"

maria goes to respond but thinks better of it when adams starts speaking again.

"you have ten seconds to come out before we start opening up these stalls, hamilton!"

"one!" they hear one stall door open. "two!" another door is kicked open. "three!" another. "four!" another. "five, c'mon hamilton, we're halfway there." a very loud kick. "six!" one more. "seven-,"

"mr. adams! how lovely and dapper you look on this fine day!" a cheery feminine voice shrieks.

"ms. schuyler," adams greets. "you wouldn't happen to know where alexander hamilton is, would you?"

"hm, not a clue! but!" she drags out the last word for a long time.

after that, there's screaming coming from the hall. french screaming?

"i'm going to beat your ass, mulligan! you cheated on me!?"

footsteps can be heard running out of the bathroom and this was now their chance to get out. alex opens up the stall and practically falls out. they start running in the opposite direction of the fight, peggy sending them a wink before acting like she's helping break up laf and herc from their "fight".
