Sierra was lying on the bed in her crummy motel room. It had been two days since Carson had told her to run, and she hadn't heard anything since.
She was fiddling with a random lighter that she had found in one of her father's drawers, when she was just a small kid. Well, even more of a small kid then she was right now.
Sierra looked at the lighter, and she flicked it open, so that it had a small flame, and then, she looks at the tips of her fingers, wondering if she could use the fire to her advantage in a fight somehow.
She shakes her head at the silly thoughts, and snaps the lighter closed quickly, as she lay back on the bed. At least now she was away from all those who wanted her gone.
Well... she thought that she was anyways. She lay her head back onto the cleanish pillow, and she closes her eyes not intending at all to at once fall into complete rollercoaster of familiar nightmares and bad memories.
She was back in her old house, and her mom was screaming, at Father, and Sierra had her hands clenched over her ears as she tried to get the pair to stop arguing all the time!
But it never worked and Sierra knew exactly how this nightmare always ended.
"Oh, you poor child."
Sierra looked up in her dream, wondering if this was another part of the nightmare that hadn't been there before.
"Oh no, dear child. I am no nightmare, but neither am I a dream. I am a man, a mutant like you."
Sierra shakes her head in her dream, unaware that in reality, she was being surrounded by the police for credit card fraud, destroying a lot of property and to top it all of for her, running from the law.
"I have people coming for you. They will look like this memories I am about to show you."
Sierra saw a man with funny looking glasses covering his face, a woman with long red hair, another woman with silver hair, along with electric coming out of her hands.
"Remember these words. Professor Xavier, Professor X. It is these words that will confirm to you, that it is safe to go with them."
Sierra looks around, completely bewildered.
"But wait! Who are you and why should I trust your funny looking friends?" She called out in a sound of desperation, she was in a desperate state to understand.
"As I have stated before to you, I am indeed a mutant, just like you child. My mutation allows me to read your mind, walk in dreams. But of course you need a name to really understand."
Sierra raised her eyebrows at his description of his powers. "Is that how you found me?" She asked.
"Yes it is. But my name now it is. Hello Miss Storm, my name is Professor X, or as many more people know me, my name is Professor Charles Xavier."
Sierra woke up with a loud gasping sound, as she heard heavy footsteps coming along the hallway, reaching onto the bedside table for her lighter, by an unknown and certainly not at all expected impulse.
She flicked the flame open, and the flame grew quickly in her panic, and she held the fireball behind her back, scared stiff of who that might be, and why they might be after her.
Someone stopped outside her door, and then tries to wiggle the knob of the door. "Storm! I can't get this open, do you think it's safe to blast it?"
A man's voice was surprisingly quiet came from the other side and a couple more people's footsteps were heard as they approached the door as well.
"There are so many people here Cyclops, it's not safe. We'll announce our position to everyone. Plus, there's cops on their way."
A crackle of electricity was heard as the woman spoke to the man.
"Everyone is looking for this kid. We need to get her out now, I don't care if we attract all of the attention in world as long as we get her to the Professor."
The guy replied.
"Storm, Cyclops is right on this one. I know, I understand you think that it is bad to destroy the motel property. On this, I need you to believe me, when I say that I understand." Another women's voice was heard.
"I'm blasting it. Stand back." The guy from before says, and all Sierra could hear was a sort of clicking sound, and she backed up quickly, and crouching behind the bed in silence.
She holds the ball of fire in her right hand, as she held her breath in for as much as she dared.
Then suddenly a red optic blast sent the door flying off of its hinges and it almost went straight through the wall on the other side. Sierra flinched back as three people walked into the room.
"Jean, where is she?" The man that had no doubt been the one to blast the door open, and his visor was identical to the one in the vision, that the voice, that he had shown her.
"I'm right here." Sierra stands up, her fireball in hand, and they backed up a bit at her sudden appearance.
"Another Pyro?" The man speaks again, as Sierra shakes her head and clenchs her fist, and the fire had then just disappeared. As if it had been crushed by her willpower and fear.
"Who are you?" Sierra asked, her voice shaking with fear, and it was clear to all three of them, that they may have made a very much critical error in their plan of literally busting into the room.
"Hey. You just take it easy kid. The name's Cyclops. But you can just call me Scott Summers." The man with the weird visor says to her holding out his hand for a handshake.
Sierra hesitantly put her hand in his and shook it, before suddenly a ball of fire was thrown at him, and she raced past the other two women, who were now yelling at Scott in loud voices, as she ran.
