y/n's pov

"that was unexpected," i finally decided to break the silence.

"that was long overdue," mattia pants, still catching his breath since he did all the work. "do you regret it already or something?"

"no," i plainly say. "just still a little mad that you think i would sleep with the principal."

"he was staring at your ass after the assembly," he says.

"yeah cause there was dust all over my pants-- he was just telling me."

"then why was he at your house the other night?" mattia ask.

"he came over for dinner," i explain. "i've also known him since the day i was born. he and my parents were friends in high school."

"fuck," he whispers.

"fuck? why fuck-- what did you do?" i turn to him.

mattia wipes his face. "i thought you guys were having sexual relations so i might've... told the school board."

"you did what?" i quickly get up and get dressed. "mattia-- why would you-- why didn't go to me first?"

"cause i thought he was using you," he sat up and watched me put on my pants. "i was worried for you."

"like you don't use girls everyday," i throw on my shirt. "and i just added another girl to your list... what's wrong with me? i'm such a hypocrite."

"no," he shakes his head. "no it wasn't like that."

"is that what you tell every girl when they realize what a player you are?" i shout. "i can't even be mad at you-- this was my fault, i did this to myself."

"y/n...," he says sadly.

"and you were just telling me about how you and jenna might try to get in a relationship too," i remembered. i'm so disgusted with myself. "whatever, i gotta find roger."

before mattia can say anything else, i run out the door and exit the house.

calling roger...

roger: hey kiddo what's up?
y/n: i'm so sorry, i messed up-- or not me but-
roger: woah woah slow down. what happened?
y/n: some idiot thought you and i were getting too close so he sent his concerns to the school board.
roger: what? they so think i'm involved with a minor now?
y/n: we have to call them right now-- with my mom and dad too. we'll show them proof that it's all a misunderstanding and that you're basically like a second father to me.
roger: *takes a deep breath* okay i'm coming over to your house right now.

i hang up the call and get into my car, quickly driving home.

-

"yes this y/n y/l/n's father," my dad spoke into the phone. "roger allens has been with this family before my daughter was even born-- this is all a mistake." silence. "yes he came over because we occasionally have family dinners every week-- roger will continue to come back." silence. "thank you. sorry for all the confusion. have a good night."

a sigh of relief came out of me and i lean back on my couch. "so is everything okay?"

"everything's fine," my dad assures me. "i admire how someone was concerned enough about you to report it."

i squint my eyes. "or they should've came to me first and talk to me about it."

"honey," my mom speaks. "in most cases, when a minor is being taken advantage of, they don't always have the guts to do something about it. now if you assumed something was going on between a teacher and student, tell me you wouldn't do the same thing."

"i guess.. yeah," i mumble. "i'm sorry this happened roger."

"it's fine kiddo it wasn't your fault. i should've mentioned to them that you and i have a different relationship on the first day," he sighs. "thanks again for helping me out with this guys."

"of course," my dad gives him a hug and we all say bye before roger leaves. "everything okay y/n? the situation's over."

"yeah i'm just still a little upset roger almost lost his job," i answer. deep down, i was still thinking about mattia, how i told myself i would never be one of those girls that would let themselves be used.

what happened?
