The Vampires Slave

Chapter 6

I woke up startled, not even 5 inches from my face was a black haired boy with icy blue eyes that was shaking me, while yelling something at me. I could only hear him faintly, everything was still too fuzzy. I didn't know what time it was.

"Are you alright?", The boy yelled at me.

I slowly got all my senses back, and began nodding. He was the prince? I thought he would hit me until I'd almost bleed to death. I wondered what the king had meant when he said that the prince doesn't like it when others hurt his slaves. And why was I sent directly to the princes chamber? Didn't they have female slaves at other places?

"What happened to you?", The black haired boy asked.

"I- I'm the princes slave.", I explained slowly, hoping he would identify himself as the prince.

"I'm sorry. I hope you'll be fine.", He said. No luck. It made my fear rise again.

"It's alri-"

Suddenly the door flung open and the black haired guy from the alley stepped in. I froze in place but, bowed my head in hopes that he wouldn't recognize me.

"What are you doing here, Lace?", He yelled furiously.

"I was just lo-"

"I don't care. Get out. Now!", He screamed.

"Yes, Prince Leviathan.", Lace said, his voice rimmed in resignation.

The prince stepped away from the door, so Lace could leave. Lace shot me one final sympathetic look, then left. Leviathan angrily shut the door and turned to me. What did he want me to do? I was still sitting on the floor and wouldn't look up to meet his glare. But I did get up, with my head still bowed.

"Who are you?!", He spat.

"S- Samantha.", I sputtered nervously.

"No, YOU are mine now. I will call YOU whatever I want.", He said, while pulling on my shackles. It really hurt because the shackles were slowly grinding away my skin. I felt little lines of blood running down my hands. I still wouldn't meet his gaze.

"Look at me.", He growled, he was getting really pissed. I could tell because he started spitting too. He mustn't have noticed the blood trickling down my hands but, he continued pulling and shaking them. Instead of giving him the satisfaction of seeing me being scared, so I looked at my boots. Well, at least what I could see of them. I wasn't paying attention to what he was doing but, I suddenly felt something on the back of my knees. He stood behind me and tried to get me down to kneel before him. When he finally got me down, he pulled my chin up and stared at me in shock.

"How did you get out of the cell?!", He asked finally. Crap. Wait, so it was him that brought me here. I couldn't think of an appropriate response and he must have guessed it after a few moments of silence.

He pulled me up, again via shackles, and threw me onto the little couch that was standing in one corner of the chamber. He then attached my chain to a hook low on the wall next to the couch. I wanted to cry. I needed to cry, this was the man that killed my best friend. But I wouldn't let him see me cry. I couldn't, and I wouldn't.

He left the room after that, and I was pretty sure he locked the door after he closed it too. I'm no David Copperfield, so I didn't know how he expected me to escape from here anyways. I thought of Marlena. A lot. She was like my sister. And now she was kicked off the face of the earth just because the prince had his time of the month. I kept thinking that if I thought a lot about Marlena, it would show my respect and love to her. Even if nobody saw it.

After 3 hours or so, I heard how someone unlocked the door. Lace and the king entered the room. I quickly dried my tears and tried to sit up as best as I could. The king looked me over in somewhat of a sympathetic look and whispered something to Lace. Then I saw something glittering exchange hands between the two of them. After that exchange, the king left. Lace slowly made his way up to me and unlocked the shackles, examining the damage on my wrists. His hands were surprisingly warm.

"It's fine.", I growled, trying to pull my hands from his as my stomach grumbled.

"Oh gods, how long have you been without food?", He asked, eyeing me with an almost comical expression. Though he didn't wait for an answer, which I wouldn't have given him anyhow, as he stalked back out the door.

I didn't hear a key being turned in the lock so I assumed I was proven an idiot that couldn't escape. But I couldn't escape now anyways. I had to pee. Badly. There where three doors here in this room. One was the entrance, I didn't know what the other two were for. I went to one door and opened it. It was a closet. Shirts in shades of gray, black and white hung in orderly rows on hangers on the left side, leather trousers in various designs and colors lay neatly folded on shelves on the right side of the closet. Under the lowest shelves, a row of black leather shoes stood. I went to the last door, it was a bathroom. I quickly did my business there and looked at my face on the mirror. There where no cuts whatsoever. All I saw where tired eyes staring back at me. Marlena used to call them sunflower eyes, or she'd say that they looked like staring up to the sky in a forest. My pale skin looked paler now. I quickly left the bathroom and sat back down on the couch, just as Lace entered the room again.

"I'm back.", Lace chimed as he sat down next to me with a tray full of food. I didn't know what all of it was but, I felt really starved and rebellious just dug in.

"The prince isn't always like that, he's really nice once you get to know him.", Lace explained calmly. "He's a great guy."

I ate the food and drank some water with it. I didn't want to talk to Lace right now, I just wanted to be alone. So as soon as Lace got up, I stretched out on the complete couch. Lace left and came back after a while. He brought me a down pillow and a thick blanket. I took off my boots and laid back, covering myself with the blanket. The last thing I felt before falling into a deep sleep was a soft peck on my cheek, barely noticeable.
