.:The Vampires Slave:.
.:Chapter 14:.
*Prince Leviathans P.O.V.*
I stood in shock at the foot of her bed as the heart monitor continued it’s monotonous beep. Nathalies insane laugh still echoed through the halls as the guards pulled her to the dungeon. A group of doctors and nurses pushed me out of the way as they started to work on her. I turned to my father and stared at him in horror as we got pushed out of the room. My father reached out and was about to open the door as we heard screams outside. My father started to run, and I followed him closely.
We got outside and saw black smoke rise from a house in the village just outside of the castle. There were people screaming and running around, rogues on horses chasing them. They swung their swords at the villagers as they ran for their lives. They were trying to get into the castle. I ran back and sent guards to escort my father into a tower.
“Protect him with your lives.”, I said as they walked away. I ran to my room and took my sword, then made my way back into the battle.

I felt like I was floating in a black sea as the dim light shone down from above. I heard muffled voices, as shadows danced across the surface. Their silhouettes dancing in the dim light. I turned my back on them and looked at the ground underneath me. My mothers dead body lay at my feet and the man in the leather jacket stood above her, his gun still pointing at her head. I looked behind me and saw how I was staring in horror at him. I turned to the the sliding doors that led to the backyard and ran. I saw how I ran and stole quick glances over my shoulder to see how close he was. I saw how I fell and and how I crumbled to my side as he shot me.
It was the same mistake that had left me alive now. He should have stayed there to watch me die, instead of walking away and letting me survive.
I felt air fill my lungs as I started breathing again. I slowly got closer and closer to consciousness as the voices got clearer. I tried to open my eyes slowly but there was a strong light shining at me, making it nearly impossible to open them. I looked down one last time at my dead mothers body on the floor. She was on her side and her black hair hid the expression on her face. I felt hot tears stream down my face and turned my head away from her.
I slowly tried to open my eyes again, with little progress. I continued to open my eyes as they adjusted to the light and I saw the room around me. Everything was still blurry but, I could see people around me working on something.
Then the door burst open and everyone stopped and looked up. People dressed in black came rushing in and the last thing I saw before I closed my eyes again was blood. I heard horrible screams and pleas as I opened my eyes a little while later. The white walls of the room were covered in splatters of blood and someone was standing at the foot of my bed, also dressed in black. My mind wheeled as I looked in confusion at that person. Did they have vampire ninjas? I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I looked up at that person standing there. I opened my mouth to talk, but I could make no noise. My throat felt dry as the person at the foot of my bed pulled off their mask.
I stared in horror at the white haired guy in front of me. He smiled quickly as he walked over to me. He went to the left side of the bed and I moved away from him. I fell off the bed and sat in a big puddle of blood. I couldn’t really move my legs as I pulled myself to the door, using my hands. I didn’t get far as the white haired guy pulled me up by the arm. He threw me over his shoulder and I felt blood rushing into my head at the sudden movement. I heard screams as he opened the door and walked out of the room. There were dead bodies everywhere. I tried to scream and yell as he walked out into the sunshine.
I twisted around and slipped out of his grasp. I fell to the ground and and turned on my back. The white haired guy obviously didn’t care that he let me fall. He simply continued to walk through the fighting masses and led a black horse back to where I was. I tried to move my feet and succeeded a little. As he bent down to pull me up, I managed to kick his chest and heard him groan slightly as he fell back. I knew I had surprised him. I scrambled to my feet, pulling myself up by the horses saddle. Then I turned and walked a few feet as I got my equilibrium back.
I looked back and ran. Looking back occasionally to see if he was following me. I thought memory of the chase a few years ago. I nearly died there. ‘Now I’ll die here’, I thought as I ran towards the castles garden. I looked back one more time and saw nobody following me. I looked in front of me and saw a labyrinth made of high hedges. I wanted to hide somewhere, so I ran into the maze, going in as deep as I could. I came to a halt near a big fluffy lavender bush. I looked around to make sure nobody was near and crawled underneath it. I hoped the lavender would disguise my scent. I sat there for a long time. The lavender bush was surrounding a tree, so I scooted farther into the bush until my back hit the tree trunk. I pulled up my knees underneath my dress and leaned back, closing my eyes.

I fought like a crazy person, killing rogue after rogue. I didn’t know how they had gotten this far without being noticed. They all wore black, which made it easier to keep them and my men apart. In a wild battle, it often happened that you kill one of your own as you try to keep the enemy and your men apart.
I pushed the mental image of Samantha lying dead in that bed away as I focused on the battle I was in. I was happy that my father wasn’t involved in this as I killed another rogue. I caught a faint trace of some familiar scent as I ran towards the next group of guards. ‘Samantha?’, I thought and turned to the direction the smell was coming from. I only saw a white haired guy, dressed in black, lying next to a horse. I turned back to the fighting group and quickly jumped in to help them. It started to rain and even though it was warm, the rain made the ground slippery, making fighting harder. I saw a couple rogues run into the castle and sent a few guards after them. I hoped that they wouldn’t get very far. It seemed like the rogues kept on multiplying themselves.
After a few hours, we scared the rest of the rogues away. I looked around, the ground was littered with the bodies of my people and the bodies of the rogues. The rain had taken care of the fires and the people of the villages came slowly to the castle to help rebuild things there. I walked into the castle and went to the east wing. I climbed the steps up to the tower to find my father, and all of the guards I had sent with him, still alive.
“How bad is it, son?”, He asked as he slowly got up from the chair he was sitting in.
“It’s bad but, our men fought bravely. The ones that fell in the battle will be buried tonight. I want their families to be taken care of, and I want our guards to start respecting the villagers, they too fought to defend the castle as much as the guards did.”, I said as I wiped sweat away from my forehead, using my soaked sleeve.
“Did they invade the castle too?”, He questioned me as we slowly walked down the tower steps.
“Some tried, but they didn’t get far. I sent guards after them, so they-”, I stopped as we got to the ground floor. “Do you smell this too?”
“Yes, what is this? Did you see them out there?”, He asked as he smelled the air.
“No, I didn’t see any o- Oh, how could I have overlooked THAT?”, I said dumbfounded. “There was one of them lying outside on the ground but, I didn’t think about it.”
“Well, why was he here?”, My father asked as we walked around the castle. We stopped dead in our tracks as the smell of blood filled our noses. He turned to me with a look of shock and pointed his bony finger towards the west wing. It was the only place where there were humans still working as the attack began. Samantha.
We ran towards the medics station and saw the bloody bodies on the ground. We made our way through the hall and saw that Samanthas door was open. I walked in and noticed the blood splatters on the walls. Then I saw that the bed was empty. The smell was stronger here, and I guessed that he had been in here.
“She’s gone.”, I said grimly as I turned to leave. Something pulled on my pants leg and I looked down. A nurse was lying on the floor as she wrapped her little hand around my pants leg and pulled a little. I crouched down next to her as she moved her lips. I couldn’t hear her, so I bent down lower to her. I felt her warm breath on my face as she leaned in closer to me.
“She’s alive....”, She whispered almost inaudible. I heard her moan and watched as she crumbled dead to the floor. I turned to my father and walked out of the room.
“What would they want her for?”, My father asked as we walked along the hallway. I looked around and spotted the stairway up to the tower. I walked up there and saw Lace and Austin sprawled out on the floor.
“Are you guys alright?”, I asked as I walked closer to them.
“Yeah, they got Lace, so I pulled him up here and stayed with him.”, Austin said as he looked up at me. “Is it over?”
“Yeah, it’s over. And she’s gone.”, I said as I turned to leave.
“What do you mean?”, Austin asked as he got up.
“Samantha is gone. She’s still alive though.”, I said as I walked out the door.
“Who took her?”, He asked as he pulled me back by my shoulder.
“Albus.”, I said grimly as I walked out. I walked out to the castles garden. It had stopped raining, and the courtyard was almost cleaned up. I walked along the flower shrubs and looked around. My mother created this garden a long time ago. She wanted to have a hedge maze. My father thought it was only a waste to invest his time on it. My mother was right after all because, they both had spent a lot of time here, creating it. It was a happy time. A time before the Albus came.
The Albus were like vampires, with only one difference. We were the Umbra Suos. They were the light ones, we’re the dark ones. The Albus were the complete opposite of us. My mother always told me that for every dark vampire, there was always a light vampire to match him or her. Both were the same, yet so different. The Albus and our kind didn’t always get along. And I presumed that this was one of those times that we apparently did not get along too well. Why would they want to have Samantha?
“Princess Lucerna.”, I said as I turned around.
“Yes, Prince Leviathan.”, Lucerna said. She was the princess of the Albus. Her long white hair framed her face perfectly as she looked at me with her shiny blue eyes. Her red dress flowed from her body as she stepped closer.
“What an honor to meet you here.”, I said, sarcasm rimming my voice.
“Well, you know. Business here and there. A few deals that have to be done, some arrangements that have to be made, a strange human girl that isn’t from this dimension...”, She said as she trailed off.
“So, how are the arrangements getting along? I hope the business your on is going great. The strange human from another dimension is none of your business.”, I said as I walked into the maze.
“The arrangements and the other things are going along fine, thank you. The strange human is as much my business as it is yours.”, She said as she followed me.
“No, she is not.”, I stated.
“Oh, how wrong you are. She will destroy the perfect balance that we have here. It is a very delicate decision. And as you killed my human twin, I will be happy to say that I should be allowed to kill your little human girl.”, Lucerna said smiling while walking next to me to the center of the maze.
“I killed your twin because I didn’t want you to become one with her. That would have destroyed the perfect balance here.”, I said as we passed the lavender bushes.
“Oh, you’re silly! I wouldn’t have wanted to do that with Marlena! But I do want that human you’re hiding.”, She said as she sat down on the white bench near the lavender bushes.
“You aren’t getting her though.”, I said as I stood next to the bench.
“So it’s a girl? Aww, that is so cute! How old is she? What does she look like?”, She asked as she scooted over to me.
“Yes it’s a girl. So you may leave now.”, I said in clear annoyance.
“We do not want to be rude, do we? So, can I have her?”
“No. You can not have her.”, I said furiously.
“I want her!”, She said defiantly as she got up and stood in front of me.
“No.”, I stated flatly.
“Yes, I do!”, She said as she pushed me.
“No.”, I said and pushed her out of my way. I walked back to the castle, leaving her behind me.
*Samanthas P.O.V.*
I heard someone coming this way and stopped breathing. I tried not to move. It was the prince. I wanted to crawl out but, there was someone walking behind him. I stayed still. It was a white haired girl that wore a long red dress. They were arguing.
“I killed your twin because I didn’t want you to become one with her. That would have destroyed the perfect balance here.”, Leviathan said as they passed the lavender bush I was in. He killed someones twin?
“Oh, you’re silly! I wouldn’t have wanted to do that with Marlena! But, I do want that human you’re hiding.”, The girl said as she sat down on the white bench next to the lavender bush. Marlena? He killed Marlena because she was this girls twin?! Tears slid down my face and I tried not to let the whimper escape my mouth. They kept arguing and I tried to stay silent. They were arguing about me. I was the human he was hiding. But he wasn’t hiding me, there were other humans here too!
“Yes, I do!”, The girl said and Leviathan pushed her back and walked out of the maze. The girl was fighting to keep her balance, then she fell back into the bushes. She landed on me and I was pinned underneath her.
“Oh, How delicious...”, She said as she turned and looked at me.
