Today is their PE day, at ang iba sa mga teachers nila, naghold na ng unang quizzes. Mr. Francisco challenged Paul and Chester, sinagutan nila ang quiz nila, with the topics na inaral nila. But their quiz had a twist, may tatlong items na pang-grade 9, finding the value of the longer leg and the hypotenuse. Habang sinasagutan ng buong class ang quiz nila, Mr. Francisco just smiled at how Paul and Chester tried to answer the questions.

Class, you only have 20 minutes to finish your quiz. I expect by now, nasa part 3 na kayo ng quiz, which will take a bit of your time. Sabi ni Mr. Francisco.

Nabigla siya nang ipasa na ni Chester ang papel niya without even double-checking if may na-miss siyang item. Paul submitted his paper next. Mr. Francisco had a good look at their answers, and was quick enough to tell them their scores.

Paul, Chester, lapit kayo. Sabi ni Mr. Francisco, as he pens their scores for the quiz. Lumapit sila Chester at Paul sa kanya. Chester was on the left side of Mr. Francisco, while Paul was at his right side. May pag-distance? Awkward?

Chester, your score is 38 out of 40. Paul, you got 38 as well. You both forgot to put the negative sign sa number 17. Remember that when you transfer a positive number next to the equal sign, the positive becomes negative. Sabi ni Mr. Francisco. Taray hindi nag pa-taasan ang dalawa.

I'm surprised, though. You both got the three items correct. How did you knew about the pythagorean theorem? Tanong ni Mr. Francisco.

Nagtry po kasi akong mag-short course in Geometry nung summer. Sabi ni Chester. We stan a math whiz kid.

May bootcamp po kami before ng math subjects to prepare us for Math Competitions every month nung nasa Dewey pa po ako. Nasa math and science club din po kasi ako noon. Sabi ni Paul. Sana all may gana sa math?? Sana all willing sumali sa Math and Science Club??

Impressive, you two. Looks like we're seeing the back-to-back trophy for Whitterman! Chester, I hope you are aware that you and Paul will be one of Whitterman's representatives in the inter-school quiz bee. We'll set you up a review sessions with the former champions from last year, and some colleagues of mine who will help you ace the questions. I hope you guys win! Sabi ni Mr. Francisco. Chester was shocked, ngayon lang niya nalaman na mas bumigat ang responsibilities niya now that he will represent Whitterman outside.

I'm fine with it. Mr. Francisco will provide naman sa mga trainings and review sessions, plus exempted tayo sa 2nd Periodical Exam. Wala naman sigurong problema na 'dun, diba? Sabi ni Paul as he kept a straight face while talking to Chester. Ay, sunget?

If Paul's fine with it po, then I'm on board na din po.

You'll do great work!

Mr. Francisco reminded Thea to get their papers at lunch time later.
