Jack asked Lou to cover Amy with a sheet, as Lou was just going down the stairs they heard Caleb in the Barn, Lou shouted to him "Do not open the rear door. Lou went through and opened the Barn door just enough to get through and told Caleb to wait a minute.
She covered Amy over and checked her pulse which was strong then opened the door. As soon as Caleb saw Amy he asked if she fell ,and Lou just nodded.
"Jesus , how the hell did she fall out Lou." Caleb asked her.
"She didn't, she was pushed or thrown out by an intruder, and Ty was attacked too." Lou told him.
Caleb noticed Amy's fingers and mentioned it to Lou who also had a look.
"Amy must of gouged him which will be good for the police, when they finally get here." Lou said.
Just then they heard the Sirens.
Jack told the Paramedics Ty was upstairs. Lou called the other Paramedics and said they would more than likely need a spinal board. The Paramedics asked where she fell from and Lou showed them but told them is was more like pushed or thrown as the lock on the Loft doors was broken.
Lou needed to get out of the Barn and jack too and leave them to do there jobs.
While outside Jim the police chief turned up and came over to them.
Lou told him that Amy had blood and Skin under her finger nails from the intruder .
Just then one of the Paramedics dealing with Amy asked where they could land a Helicopter as there were Horses everywhere.
Lou looked at the Arena and noticed there were no jumps out, so pointing to it she told him the Arena was the best place.
Lou asked him why they were using a helicopter for Amy.
The Paramedic said that Amy could have Spinal injuries and didn't want to chance the movements of going by road. Lou really hoped they were wrong. The Ambulance with Ty in set off for the Hospital, Just as the helicopter landed for Amy.
Jim spoke to the Paramedic about what was under Amy's nails and said they needed it so they could hopefully catch the intruder.
Amy was loaded in and the helicopter took off.
Jack and Lou set off for the Hospital.

Tim was in his kitchen making breakfast along with a beer when someone knocked on his door..
He opened it and looked at the man in front of him and asked him what the hell happened to your face.
He looked at Tim and said" You told me he'd be on his own but this bird was in his bed and attacked me just as I was finished with with the bloke, she even punched me in the side of my head so hard I flew off the bed, then she kicked me in my balls. We ended up fighting even though she was naked so I grabbed her hair and swung her round against the Loft wall, except it was a pair of doors and she disappeared through them.
So I ran out of there".
"What the hell, is she alive, I didn't know they were sleeping together " Tim said.
The bloke informed Tim "I dont know but they wont be getting married anytime soon, now just pay me so I can go".
Tim gave him the envelope and he left.
Now Tim was worried he'd gone to far.

Back at the Hospital Jack, Lisa and Lou were waiting for news they couldn't believe they were back here again.
Dr Hammond just happened to be on duty and came over to them.
"Hello again folks ,Jack, Lou, Lisa, I cant believe what's happened .
First of all Ty is going to be okay, beaten and bruised but no damage.
As for Amy we'll go to my office. "
When they got there he asked them to take a seat. Dr Hammond looked at them and proceeded " Now I have Bad news and good news, The bad news is that Amy has a Broken Back ,the good news is that her spinal cord is fine and No damage which means she will walk again but not straight away. She'll be confined to a wheel chair for a few months while her spine heals then she will be allowed to walk small distances with support and have to use an ATV or something in between. "
Lou asked dr Hammond how long this would all take as she and Ty were supposed to get married in 2 weeks and it was now cancelled again.
Dr Hammond said " Well everyone heals at different speeds so it's hard to say of course , Amy has two fractures which means the surgeon will have to fit two Rods in her spine to prevent what we call Spodylothesis where the Vertebrae can slip in opposite directions causing damage to the spinal cord. The two rods will prevent this from happening.
Your proberly looking at 1 to 2 years for a full recovery, but she should be able to walk slowly down the aisle in say 4 to 6 months. I understand that if you hadn't parked the hay Trailer there the night before Amy would of hit the Concrete . You saved your Granddaughters Life Jack, that fall would of killed her.
Lisa asked when they could see Ty and Amy.
Dr Hammond said they can see Ty now, but Amy was still in Surgery and would be for a least 4 hours while they strengthened her spine.

They walked in to see Ty who was bruised all over his face, that alone would of cancelled the Wedding.
When Ty saw them he asked what the hell happened to him.
Jack explained that an intruder came in and beat him while he was asleep and they suspected Tim was responsible as he threatened to stop the Wedding for some reason.
Then Ty asked the one thing they were dreading, where's Amy.
Lou immediately burst into Tears then turned into sobbing. Lisa got Lou up and said they'd go down to the Cafeteria. Lou got up and hugged Ty and kissed him gently on the cheek saying ,"I'm so sorry Ty," .
"Jack, what's happened to Amy, please be honest with me". Ty implored"..

" Ty this is only conjecture on our part as Amy can't tell us anything, going by what the police have been able to piece together from the scene and the blood splatters Amy must of woken up while you were being attacked, knowing Amy she would of attacked whoever it was ,the police believe that most of the blood was from the intruder, Amy even gouged the bloke considering he had a Ski mask on, anyway somehow during the fight the intruder must of pushed or thrown her against what we hope he thought was a solid wall but when she hit the wall the Loft doors burst open and Amy went through them."
Jack could see the tears in Ty's eyes then realised that Ty probably thought Amy was Dead.
" Ty, Amy's alive and that's only because I moved the Hay Trailer to the back of the Barn, so she hit the wooden deck instead of the concrete.
She's still in Surgery. "
"How bad is she Jack " Ty asked.
Jack explained to Ty how bad she was . Ty sobbed, his poor Amy has been through enough.
"WHO'S RESPONSIBLE JACK".

"Well we know of only one person who wanted to stop the Wedding Ty, and I dont think or I hope he didn't want this to happen to Amy. He probably thought you'd be on your own."

The police with the two photo's Lou took identified the Truck to a man they knew as a thug for hire.
It didn't take them long to find him and he was arrested, he was told they had DNA to test against his but they knew he was responsible as soon as they saw the gouges on his face.
During the interview he caved in fairly quickly and gave them a name they already guessed was responsible
