Chapter 23.  AMY'S RESCUERS

Amy comes out the bathroom and puts a blanket around herself as she is still in PJ's and goes down to the dining room, thankfully the whole place is on one level so doesn't take long and everyone is shocked to see her.
"I'm starving so I hope you've got food left."
Akram looks surprised "Wow wasn't expecting to see you up and about already".
"Well, I said all I needed was my chair and here I am. Maybe tomorrow Akram you could introduce me to your horse.".
"Yes that sounds great."
"Okay, give me time to get myself sorted so how does 1pm sound".
" Perfect Mrs Borden".
"From now on call me Amy".
"Thank you Amy."

In the morning Amy noticed a small ping every 10 seconds so unplugged the chair got in it and went to the bathroom,  Amy sent a ping back, she was surprised it was working like this as it was only a safety feature for the Ranch.  Then the pings came back which she worked out in her head which basically said **Today 4pm**.
Amy assumed that was for * Being rescued today 4 pm*.

Heartland

It had been two days and Ty hadn't been contacted , so decided to phone JP himself as he wasn't happy with the  communication from the Detective.
After an hours chat with John he immediately sent a message to Amy.
Ty was glad he phoned John otherwise Amy would have possibly been in harm's way.
Jack asked Ty if he'd heard anything when he walked in but Ty just nodded No. He went and got Lynzy then went for a walk with her in her stroller.
Ty was actually going to see Lou to bring her up to date. Things were still strained between Ty and Jack and Ty didn't know if he could ever forgive Jack .
Ty got to the gate and pressed the key code in that Lou gave him and walked through closing the gate behind him.
     Lou made Ty a coffee then picked up Lynzy, and sat at the table.
"So Ty how you getting on with grampa".
" Let's say I wish we had a gate in the house ".
"That good eh".
"I don't know if I can ever forgive him Lou, he put my Wife, Lynzy's mum, and Your little Sister in Danger and she could be dead, Fish food, if it wasn't for the fact that I've been talking to her with Morse Code."
"What, you've been talking to her, how".
"Well , you know Lisa got Amy the 4 x 4 Chair so she could go on Trail rides when she wasn't aloud to Ride. Well I spoke to Lisa and her Security Chap and explained that if something was to happen how could we contact her or know her location and he said he had some up to date tech that he could incorporate into the chair as it  uses Satellites signals. So I was pleased when I saw the chair gone because as soon as it started pinging I knew it was Amy. Only Amy knows how to engage the SOS signal .
There's also a keyboard hidden under the Controller arm that allows us to send a short message. "
"Ty,, is she okay and who took her "
"Well Lou, they were rough with her and she said her Backs Broke again but can't feel her Legs, so she  can't walk.
The people who took her was Akram, one of Ahmeds brothers and she thinks he is there as well.
The rescue is at 4PM  our time/or theirs I dont know. But it must be soon."
"But who's rescuing her Ty".
"I believe it's the Saudi Military because they want Akram and Ahmed who are wanted criminals. There also sending a Military Medical Helicopter,  and J.P said they will make sure they bring her Chair back as well as I think she may need it again for a while.
"Let's hope the surgeons can repair the damage."
Fingers Crossed Lou"

Eritrea

Amy's been working with Akram and his Horse and it was a trust issue,  so she got him to do join up a couple of times after showing him what to do and he's a different horse. Akram is pleased , very pleased.
Amy's been outside for a couple of hours and is in pain and tired, so asks him if he minds if she goes in for Pain meds and a sleep.
Of course Akram tells her thank you and to go and rest which Amy does.
She's so tired Amy just gets on the bed as best she can and changes back into her PJ's which are more comfortable and covers herself with a sheet after she takes her pain killers and is soon sleeping peacefully.
A while later Amy thinks she hears noises like a whirring noise and the pops like guns make but she isn't sure of anything, her painkillers have never made her feel this drowsy before then falls into darkness again.
The Military Helicopters approached low across the ocean catching everyone off guard.  They swarm the Ranch and Akram surrenders immediately,  the Staff were moved to a back room for safety.  Ahmed and his bodyguards fought back but were no match for soldiers so As usual Ahmed slips away.
The Captain asked the Staff where they were keeping Amy Borden.  The nurse says she will take them , as they approached her room they were extra careful,  the Nurse went back to the room. They approached Amy's room and carefully opened the door and walked in to be faced by Ahmed at the side of Amy's bed pointing a gun at her, Ahmed didn't get a millisecond to decide as two soldiers shot him dead before he could shoot Amy.
The captain called in the Medical team as soon as everywhere was contained,  he asked his men to load Amy's Wheelchair too.
The medical team looked at Amy's painkillers and asked Akram where and who prescribed them,Akram said that Ahmed must of swapped them and took another tub from the bedside draw showing the correct tablets which were the proper treatment.
The Captain looked at ahmed
Realizing that he wanted Amy unconscious when he was going to kill her.
The Team got Amy on the Spinalboard even though she was using her chair just to be safe. And loaded her in the Helicopter then took off back to Riyadh where a mediflight was waiting to Fly Amy back to Calgary for more Surgery.

Heartland

Ty went back to Lou's the following morning realising that the time for the rescue must of been Amy's time not Canadian. He knocked and Lou opened the door a second later. "Coffees on the table Ty"
"Thanks Lou, "
"Hows things, heard anything yet".
"Yes, JP phoned early this morning to say that the've got her and the helicopter took her to meet a Mediflight back to Calgary Hospital along with her wheelchair . They will phone when they have her but she's going straight into Surgery and the Wheelchair will be with her.
I told Jack the rescue went okay, but that's all for now."
" How are we going to get past this Ty, I mean You & Amy's spent a fortune on Heartland,  you cant just leave it."
"I honestly don't know Lou, we'll have to wait and see what Amy says. I don't think she'll want to leave after everything she's done, but I do think she may do things without asking Jack anymore "
"I think you may be right, and that would be the best way forward because if he complains she can throw this fiasco in his face."
Ty's phone rings,  and it's the Hospital to say they have Amy and there taking her for an MRI.
"Right, you leave Lynzy with me and get yourself to the Hospital "
"You sure Lou, I should let Jack know."
"Yes I'm positive,  and phone Grampa from the Hospital,  Okay. If he wants to be there then either he drives there himself in that battered old truck or he trys to get Lisa to take him."
" Okay Lou, thank you. You know things still aren't good between them two."
"That's his problem Ty , NOW GO."
"Byeeee Lynzy,  Daddy loves you, see mummy soon."
